"After searching the Internet we booked this cottage for the locationand the good reviews. On the Thursday prior to our Holiday, i came homefrom work to be told by wife the owner had called her and stated in abrupt manner that we should have called her by now.My wife explainedthat i was going to call on the Friday. My wife also stated that she had asked the owner if it was OK to leave our dogs in the cottage for a short while in case we needed to do some shopping etc. She was told quite bluntly dogs must never be left alone and we should leave them in the car. We only have two well behaved poodles and did not think this would have been a issue. print Anyway in the end we paid for our dogs but did not take them. The cottage itself is situated in a quite location and is ideal for walking coastal paths nearby. It as a nice conservatory built on but you can be looked on by the owners. the living room is very dark and the sofas feel damp and smell. The mattress is awful we both had back ache all week. The place was covered in cobwebs and spiders as big as saucers everywhere. the carpets throughoutwere stained and very dirty The cottage was very dirty and could do with a good clean and updatingIf we had taken our dogs we could have had a problem due to no gate or fence separating owners garden and cottage garden. there dog comes through at will. We was told by the owner that she would not be there to greet us on our arrivalshe was going away but she would call on the Monday to welcome us. During our stay she never once knocked on the door and that made us feel uncomfortable as she was out in the garden plenty of times but never spoke at allWe was very disappointed with this property and will not be returning"

"We hired the cottage for the last weekend in September to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The owner let us in earlier - as I had arrived 2 hours earlier than check-in - after a phone call which was much appreciated. The house is huge with a lovely gigantickitchen and dining room that sits 12 comfortably. All utensils and a lovely AGA and modern cooker. As a family we congregated in the kitchen both nights as it is a great space for conversation/drinks/guitar...sorry! The living room has an 80 inch TV and electric LAZYBOY chairs which were very comfortable. The other big reception room has a large TV and again, electric chairs. A great Pool table with cues and chalk and a games room for the kids (and adults) with Wii, PS4, XBOX , board games and giant connect 4.The bedrooms are sumptuous and large as is the family bathroom. The larger bedroom has a 4 poster bed and en suite too. As mentioned previously, the house would benefit from a downstairs toilet but if your party have no mobility issues, it really is not a problem. If you do, then I would choose another property as you may struggle. The village is a 5 minute walk with a big Co-op and several pubs and fish shops which was great. The cliffs are a short 20 minute walk away and worth a visit. All in all, a lovely place to stay with huge gardens to let the kids run ferrell in safety . I would recommend a stay here and I'd just like to add that the owners were quick to respond to email/text, very friendly and approachable. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend."

"All we can say is a good base. Felt like we were in a goldfish bowl as owners garden looked right into the conservatory section we spent a lot of time in! Plus 2 Owners Dogs on other side of fence - a bit too close for comfort. No-one told us that people were moving into the attached Cottage! Would have been courteous. We felt over looked from all sides & constantly worrying who was going to open the 5 bar gate next! Therefore we did not have exclusive use of rear garden & it was not secure enough for Dog's. Especially when new Occupants of attached Cottage opened the gate without telling us & 1 of our Dog's ran out on the road. S14832 needs a thorough deep clean! The bathroom is damp & needs bleaching & not appropriate to have a carpet in the bathroom. Could not possibly count how many dead flies there were behind the bed head floor area. To top it all we actually saw a couple of fleas on our last night! If Dogs are staying there & it is not deep cleaned this is inevitable as not everyone has the same high standards with there Dog's. The area was beautiful"

"Excellent house in a fantastic location. Very warm and comfortable. The local people were extremely friendly and every dog walk along the prom and beach took a lot longer due to chatting to all the locals out with their dogs, made the dog walking even more pleasurable. The local lifeboat station is situated nearby and it was also interesting watching them launching on a training session which takes place every week. The house was extremely clean and nicely decorated and welcoming. My only slight criticism is a lack of furniture in the bedrooms. Only one of the 3 bedrooms had a wardrobe. One just had a double bed, a dressing table with 2 small drawers and a foldable bedside table. The small box room only had a single bed with a bedside table with 2 drawers (the bedside table however was not next to the bed but on the opposite wall next to a wall socket). There was also a lack of pans in the kitchen. But these criticisms in no way spoilt our enjoyment of the house and we would be more than happy to return in future."

The area around was tranquil for people who like to sit back and relax and within easy driving distance of many interesting places.
