"The cottage owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is situated up a short track (a couple of hundred yards from the end of the street) and has its own gated entrance and parking space at the back of the property. The views of the hills (Campsies?) from the back of the cottage are beautiful. You enter the cottage through your own private entrance at the back so you don't disturb the owners. The gardens are beautiful and well manicured. We saw rabbits, pheasants and lots of lovely birds on the bird feeders (binoculars were provided too!). Inside the cottage, the décor and facilities are excellent. Everything you can think of is provided from a coffee machine and coffee pods to plenty of towels and toilet rolls. The cottage is very comfortable and warm (you can control the heating yourself using a hive heating control). The décor is excellent and it is well furnished with quality furniture and bedding. The local facilities in Balfron are ok, there is a small Co-op, Post Office, pub, bakers, doctors and petrol station. We had arranged a Tesco delivery to the cottage so only used the Co-op a couple of times. We found the cottage to be very handy for what we wanted to visit. Stirling was only 20 miles away, Drymen 8 miles and Glasgow about 20 miles. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are within 20-30 minutes drive. We would definitely stay here again and can honestly say we think it is one of the best, if not the best, cottage we have stayed in."

"S79715 is a hidden treasure. The location is brilliant a 2 minute walk and you’re on the beach. My dogs (2 Weimerana’s) loved it. They had the beach to themselves most times as we went at least 3 times a day. The people on the Isle of Cumbrae are most welcoming and everyone loves the dogs. The tavern pub welcomes well behaved owners and their dogs and the dogs will be served first with a fresh bowl of water and dog biscuits. The S79715 has literally everything you need. The owners Pamela & Kyle couldn’t do enough for us, we travelled from Liverpool and asked if we could check in a little earlier as we were going to arrive around 12:30 and they had the apartment all ready for us, thank you.The bed was so comfy and high quality bedding made it feel home from home. A lovely touch was the welcome basket, scrumptious Scottish shortbread and a bottle of fizz, my favourite! and dog biscuits for my girls, Peppa(3yrs) & Sallina (5months) my 2 Weimerana’s. Overall a fabulous 4 days of pure bliss, long walks, fresh air, lovely people and a cosy den to return to.We loved it and we are planning to return very soon.Kerri, Lee, Peppa & Sallina.Liverpool West Derby Village."

"How my heart sank when arriving at the grubby tenement building complete with the local drunk clutching his cider before realizing that the ground floor flat actually had to be accessed via 4/5 steps but there was a hand rail .The luxury of the fixtures fittings and furnishings are top class but designed to distract you from reality one plug socket in the kitchen area ?either tea or toast but not together the access to the garden was via potentially lethal stairs so unfortunately our dogs had no freedom apart from when we was out we couldn't empty our rubbish even if we could have managed the staircase as the bins were over flowing .the hot water is a joke and the shower is a health and safety issue the upstairs neighbours were noisy and their smoking permitated the flat being physically challenged when booking a holiday I look for ground floor or easy access with enclosed garden space for my dogs to have a run about especially in the morning and before bed and a shower on paper this property delivered but only if you had no mobility issues. it is the first time we have ever left early However if you are able bodied it would suit"

"Very nice cottage, beautiful part of Scotland, very friendly cottage owners. We happened to have real nice weather too! It was a good central place to visit a large part of Scotland. It was our first visit to Scotland, so we also visited Glasgow (the beautiful Kelvingrove Museum, a roundtrip with the hop-on-hop-off tourist bus, the Willow Tea Room) and Edinburgh (National Museum, Royal Mile, Old Town). We went by train from Balloch to Glasgow. For Edinburgh we drove to Stirling, parked our car there (£3) and went by train. The Kelpies in Stirling are a beautiful landmark to visit, as is the Falkirk Wheel. We are interested in archeology too, we went to Kilmartin in Argyle to see the neolithical cairns and standing stones, the carved rock-art, and the museum. It is a 1,5 hour drive along the lochs, with a stunning view on the way, so a time well spent. the museum has a book with walks rond the several archeological sites, and more backgoud information which we found very useful."

"S79715 is AMAZING! Whatever you’re thinking of panic packing, don’t... they have it covered! The area is absolutely beautiful and the locals are lovely and welcoming, the only reason I voted area down was we were there for a week and spent the majority of the second part of the week paying to go over to the mainland as we’d explored the island corner to corner. This does not take away from how nice the place is, just asking people to bare in mind on a long trip they may want to visit the mainland. Pamela and Kyle were overly accommodating and nothing was too much hassle. Whenever I got in contact with Pamela I would not only have a fast response, but a solution. The welcome pack was absolutely amazing (including treats for your dog), a really lovely touch. I have told family and friends about it and my parents are already planning a trip! Hope to be back in the future. Michaela, Duncan and Timmie"
