"Great location in the New Forest and 30mins away from all major places. Great walks from studio itself.Unfortunately, the sudio isn't very private and owners did gardening, watering, compositing and tidying up around us whilst we tried to eat our dinner on the patio which was a bit disconcerting.......maybe that sort of stuff could be done whilst we were out all day? Don't get me wrong, we knew it was on their grounds but every night tiding up 5 feet away from us?? We're stayed in at least 30 cottages etc over 20 years and lots on owners grounds, but most owners respected our family private time together and spoke to us in the morning whilst leaving for the day and did all their 'odd jobs' whilst we were out all day.Plus side love the area and The Royal Oak pub is fantastic and all the staff are brilliant! Also, they got days wrong and thought we were leaving on Thursday and came out to speak to us when we went out at 11am saying don't worry about leaving late, they can still clean it from within time as they have family staying here. As you can imagine a bit of a scare thinking we are being turffed out a day early. Only when i mentioned we're booked until Friday morning did they realise their error. If you're after a private, detached property this isn't the place for you. If you like talking to owners daily whilst eating your dinner then this place is an ideal base. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable and my 6 year old didn't sleep very well due to this. Shower is slow which I'm used to living in a rural myself, but fluctuating from hot to cold every 10 seconds not right."

"Hired for a week from early May for a multi-age family gathering with pets and proved an ideal location for our needs. Pleasing to find tea, coffee , milk provided on arrival together with fresh flowers. All 4 double beds rated as comfortable by occupants. Very hot w/end so very clean heated pool was well used. Equipment all of high quality and plenty of cupboards if catering for 8 people for a week. Games room well stocked and godsend if weather had ben wet! We had no need to use the heating but we never ran out of hot water for showers etc. The comfortable lounge chairs are very deep front to back and may not be 'right' for some people, but great for those that wish to curl up. Plenty of local attractions and great local walking opportunities. This is a rural location with narrow roads to the village, so be prepared to give way to large tractors and farm equipment, milk tanker and school buses. Needed services of local vet who was superb. Village free house has good range of beer / cider with a well priced and varied menu. The Owner was seen rarely, but always helpful with information and was very pleasant. She contacted us prior to the visit to confirm the booking, anticipated ETA and address any issues. Property was clearly checked, refreshed and available at 15.00 as per the booking information. We would have no hesitation in booking this location again as there is plenty to do in the area but if quiet and relaxed is required it also meets this requirement."

"I really don't want to tell you about The Lodge as we want to keep it a secret for ourselves. It is one of the best of it's type we have stayed in. Clive and Kai have managed to package a top class product. Everything and I mean everything is of the highest standard from the property grounds , furnishings , cleanliness and facilities. You will need to look very hard to find better, I assure you. However, it is not only the grounds and property that are first rate, Clive and Kai are helpful, friendly and strike the perfect balance as proprietors. I hope they are truly proud of what they have. Gail, Lilly ( the tail wagger) and myself just want a quality hideaway and The Lodge suits our needs perfectly. Peace , quiet, stunning accommodation and a cold one. So much so we are returning soon. But it is also ideal for walkers, day trippers and explorers alike.Serene - sums up The Lodge for us.Gail and John - stayed June 2018."

"Nice bungalow, very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Friendly owner who showed us around and was helpful with local info and ideas of places to visit. The carparking space and turning area available were no problem at all for our small car but would perhaps be tricky for an estate/large family car or for anyone not too confident on manovering their vehicle. That said, the property was spacious, clean and the owner had thought of the little extras that make a self-catering holiday easier. Lots of books/dvds and an excellent washing machine and tumble dryer with a brilliant heated rail above for drying off items. We visited in February but I would imagine that in the spring/summer the gardens would be an added bonus. Bath is as lovely as I remembered it with loads to see and do. Great holiday 🙂"

"Judi and Nigel were the most considerate hosts we've ever met. They were so welcoming. The welcome package (milk, bread, butter, etc) was considerable and very useful. A nice touch. St Leonards was a great base for walking in both the New Forest and the Jurassic Coastal walks. Supermarkets were nearby too. The house was lovely and decked out to a high standard. The bed was so comfortable. Parking wasn't a problem. The only 'negative' comment we would make is lack of a washing/drying machine. As walkers we would have liked some facility to wash/dry our clothes. We were happy to do light hand washing though. Overall, we would definitely return. It was a joy. Thank you Judy and Nigel - your home made bread was delicious."
