"This Swiss style chalet was set amongst others all on the tributaries of the river. The setting started off the holiday perfectly. This was going to be the weeks best holiday for years. The accommodaton had a large lounge with sliding doors overlooking the verandah, garden, mooring and the river.A large downstairs bedroom with a most comfortable double bed and a shower room just off it with underfloor heating,oh how good to have warm feet when just coming out of the shower getting dried.A well fitted kitchen/diner finished off the downstairs accomodation.A further bedroom upstirs, albeit an open spiral staircase, possibly dangerous for very young children but fine for anyone else. This did not spoil it for us as there was only my wife and myself. I would highly recommend this accomodation as long as there were no small children if you enjoy peace and quiet with a wonderful relaxing setting. There are also some good walks from here.Just to round off all of this you also have your own boat!! Yes!! We would most definitely come here again."

"Lovely stay, the lodge has a modern kitchen and is light and airy with amazing view from both inside the lodge and from the much used balcony. We were blessed with some lovely eveings so it is ideal to sit in the evening sun on the balcony. The lodge would benefit from some TLC in the cleaning/manitenance departments but was more than adequate for our our stay. The bed and sofas are different from the pictures advertised and no DVD as stated(brought to the attention of the owner) The lock is an issue and the decking in the garden needs some attention. Take care when using the boat as it can tip very easily. This property is not suitable for disabled due to the steps that need negotiating to enter the property. The garden is lovely when you have a dog and so you can sit by the edge of the water and feed the ducks and swans. Great for bird watching too. Lovely walks in and around Isleham and trips to Ely, Wicken Fen and Thetford Forest are a must. Despite small grumbles would still be happy to return."

"The lodge is modern, very clean, comfortable, well-equipped, warm ( we were there in November) with plenty of hot water. The setting is wonderful, overlooking the River Lark and we were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy occasional sunny, warm spells on the veranda where the only noises were birdsong and the occasional local resident going about their daily activities. The location of the lodge is also wonderful as the property is within easy reach of Cambridge, Ely, Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham, Wicken Fen and a variety of National Trust properties. We didn't meet the owner but had contact with him when the heating failed to come on in the morning; contact with him was easy and his response was immediate. Problem solved (the central heating timer had 'forgotten' what time it was). Altogether, an extremely enjoyable Autumn break in Cambridgeshire with the reassurance of a wonderful retreat to Riverside Lodge to spend the evening."

"We stayed in riverside lodge for a week. This property has capacity to sleep 4 (2 adults and 2 children) however, Children bedroom is upstairs and not that convenient. It did not matter to us because it was just me and my husband. Property is located just besides river and it is exactly as given on the website. Peaceful and comfortable. Lodge was perfectly cleaned, spacious and well maintained. Kitchen was well equipped and modern. For those who have car, its perfectly easy to find and approachable. We were using public transport so it was difficult for us to get there. Taxi was only option we had. Co op is 1.3 miles away. There is local butcher just outside marina. Owner was easily reachable on phone and responded quickly to all our queries. We had a great and relaxing holiday here. So overall, I loved this property and will definitely recommend to couple or small family for a peaceful holiday."

"The cottage was nice: lots of space, comfy beds, plenty of seats etc. Garden was nice too but it was a shame it wasn't enclosed because we had to follow our toddler around at all times in case she wandered onto the road/into the field (or the enormous hole in it!).There was a play area by the other cottages which is a nice idea but it was in a pretty poor state - our daughter sat on a bench inside the climbing frame and went through it.The pool was good and not over used which was lucky as it's quite little. The main complaints we had were that there was no wifi (or even broadband) in this property. I know that some people don't need to access the real world whilst on holiday but it's really frustrating for those of us who need to. The next is that there is no pub within a mile. or even 3..... we were so looking forward to a nice stroll tot he pub but no chance."
