"We really enjoyed our week staying at S168142. Louise and Phil are great hosts - friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. Their three very friendly dogs also made us feel very welcome. S168142 is very well designed, decorated and furnished. The bed, sofa etc are all really comfortable, the kitchen is high spec and easy to use, as is the bathroom which has a lovely large and powerful shower. Free bird food is provided and many different birds visit the feeders which are located just outside the steps and can be watched from the open stable door. S168142 is located in a rural area, and the peacefulness and dark skies are a real bonus. A private outdoors space is provided - we didn't use this as we spent every day visiting the many different attractions all within an easy drive of S168142. We were very lucky with the weather, but S168142 is stocked with numerous DVDs, and with good FreeSat and WiFi available staying "home"in wet weather would still be pleasurable."

"The 'house' was not at all suitable for a dog as the living room was upstairs and dogs were not allowed upstairs. The downstairs bedroom had no windows so was dark and airless. The upstairs bedroom was too light. The blinds on the window were useless and there was a street lamp outside. The velux windows had blinds on them but it was impossible to reach them so they were uncovered all the time. There was no dishwasher which is fair enough but there was no draining board to put the washed items. With a wet dog and child, it would have been a good idea to come and go through the utility room but then the dog (and the rest of us) would have had to go through the downstairs bedroom (which was not allowed).I would not describe the house as 'end of terrace'. It was more like a garage conversion! It looked very modern and attractive inside but was really not very user friendly."

"I very spacious cottage that was well equipped for our stay. Personally we found the mattress too soft. And in the age of technology, wifi would have been a huge advantage. However, the beach was lovely and was only a few minutes walk. We took a stroll one evening and were amazed at the amount of jellyfish!! (We had never seen so many). There is a pele castle across the road from the house and whilst there we had a leaflet pushed through about archeologists doing survey work in the nearby areas surrounding the castle. (Very exciting). We had complimentary tea, coffee, milk and chocolate upon arrival, which was lovely, as well as bottles of water per person. It had the added bonus of stair gates which was fabulous when having twin two year olds."

"S14722 was beautifully appointed and ultra clean. We enjoyed the view to the sea from the back of the house. The lack of a rear door to the back garden was a definite disadvantage from our point of view, since both my husband and I are getting on a little!!!!!, and as we had a teacup Yorky dog with us who required frequent use of the garden, the lack of direct access to the garden was for us a problem . The bungalow was comfortable, and in a wonderful position for the beaches etc. The weather was kind to us for the week, and we had a lovely holiday. The owners were more than friendly, and certainly didn't bother us at all. One word of caution though.... the car parking is a tad snug!!!!"

"Positives: Lovely cottage with exceptional views. Very well equipped. Home from home and cosy.Fantastic access to beach and Amble and good base to anywhere in Northumbria.Owners just let you get on with it which is great and are freely available if any issues arise.Few minor points on practicality, especially for larger groupsParking is only for 1 car and you have to gamble with where you leave any additional vehicles. Its a minor point depending on the fitness or age of your groupDirect access to back garden would be ideal especially a set of doors from the main sitting room.Shower could do with an updateOther than that I would stay here again. Good value for money and lovely location"
