The wide sandy beach, with its beautiful dunes, is popular year round for both, lounging when the sun is out, or a brisk walk in the cooler months. Settled within the National Park means this village offers miles upon miles of rolling countryside to explore; don’t forget to pack your hiking boots and camera. Although walking is popular there are plenty of other activities to enjoy here. After an active day, it will be a treat to return to the comfort of your own cottage.

"Every bedroom having its own on suite was good although some of them were a bit small and the gardens were a delight. My wife and I relaxed at 'home' one morning while the gang were out waterfall hunting and we really appreciated being surrounded by lovely shrubs and plants, the little ones loved playing hide and seek in the grounds during the evening. The garden furniture was excellent and all 10 of us were able to enjoy a seated BBQ. The location was just right, a short car journey into town or an even shorter journey to the nearest beach...could walk this but with all the paraphernalia involved with 4 children a car boot was definitely needed ... easy parking there. Feeding the troops was helped by the provision of a large 6 ring cooking range and good sized tables, although we tended to use the table in the sun lounge with a small extension table at the end for the children the table in the lounge/dining area was more than adequate and we usually breakfasted at the kitchen table. The large parking area was fine for our 3 cars and the bigger children found the smooth tarmacadam drive just great for shooting down on their scooters, performing stunts as they went. The only problem was the proximity to the busy road and it was prudent to have an adult on watch while they were playing there in case a visitor swung into the drive from the road. All in all very good accommodation and excellent facilities although if the weather was wet a tumble dryer would be a useful addition ... note from son in law ... a Jacuzzi under the BBQ area would be great !!!"

"We stayed here as a base for exploring the castles of North Wales. It was a bit of a last minute booking, but everything was sorted very quickly. The cottage was in a fabulous location surrounded by hills and sheep and was very comfortable and clean. We were made very welcome by the owners, with Mrs Jones baking us an absolutely delicious cake! Caerfynnon is a bit off the beaten track, but it was very accessible to the main road by car. The sandy beach was only about 10 minutes away with Dyffryn ardudwy about 1.5 miles down the road. There seemed to be lots of things to do and places to visit in the area - we were concentrating on castles so didn't have the opportunity to explore fully. It was so peaceful, with just the sounds of the sheep and birds to keep us company. Sadly the internet access failed, but Mr Jones was very apologetic and kept us up to date with progress, in the end we were so busy enjoying the glorious sunshine in the garden we didn't need it. The cottage proved an ideal choice for our stay and we are all hoping to visit again."

"My son and I and two dogs had a lovely stay at the cottage .it was very clean and tidy and had everything you could possibly need.it is set in a very quiet lane and has a huge enclosed garden which was ideal for the dogs.it gives the feeling of being away from it all and yet just a two minute walk away is a very well stocked grocery shop with its own butchers , a petrol station opposite and a little further along a post office/gift shop and a takeaway.it is possible to walk to benar beach from there but it's quite a jaunt through woods and across a field and at the time we were there it was very waterlogged.but it would be a lovely walk in the summer months. There was a welcome basket on arrival with a bottle of wine, coffee and hot chocolate sachets and bara brith which was a lovely touch I highly recommend this cottage and hope to go there again in the future"

"Lovely country cottage in a quiet secluded area, though not far from the main road. Plenty of parking space and outside sitting options including a lawned garden. Steep stairs which could be difficult if you have a mobility problem, though there is a ground floor toilet as well. All the facilities you would expect are fitted into the small cottage, be prepared for no dishwasher, washing machine or hairdryer, but if your staying for a week, that isn't really a problem. There were 2 of us and a dog, I expect it would be a little cosier with 4 people. Wifi worked well. Easy driving South to Barmouth and North to Llanbedr, Harlech, and on to Port Marion & Porthmadog. Its longer than a quick walk, but a short drive to the beautiful beaches is recommended. Thanks to Bho and Jayne for making us most welcome, I would recommend a stay at S81735"
