What our customers are saying about our Dog Friendly Cottages In Hertfordshire To Rent.
Anthony - verified booking
"To say it was small is an understatement. The ride on mower in an adjoining barn had more room than we had in the lounge. The stairs were unbelievably steep and being disabled they were difficult to manage and it took great effort to get our suitcase up to bedroom. The dirt between the floorboards was, for us, unacceptable. The toilet, described as an eco toilet, from caravanning experience, was nothing more than an elaborate Elsan. To describe the experience of using this waterless toilet would put people of their breakfast. Not a place for us and we shall not be returning. The description on the holiday "cottage" was not entirely clear of the above points, and had I been more informed of the place, I would not have booked. The positives were the rather pleasant porch, and sitting out on a nice warm evening. Had there been inclement weather however, it would have been another experience, given the lounge area was so small. We departed the property on Sunday morning after just 15 hours. I'm sure this property is enjoyed by some, reading some reviews, but it's not for us for the reasons given I'm sorry to say."

"The cottage was fine but to describe it as luxurious (as in your description) is misleading. We were requested to phone the contact you gave us to confirm time of arrival and to be given a security code for the gate. This we did twice, leaving messages to phone us back but received no reply. We had to obtain this info. from your office. On arrival we found two bulbs not working in the sitting room which was already ill lit. We mentioned this to someone on site but they were not replaced and no other contact with us was made. If there was a visitor book we could not find one. This disregard for the paying customer seemed arrogant. We have used your company before and this experience would not put us off booking with you again but we would be disappointed if you did not mention our comments to the owners of Gardener's Cottage."

"My partner and I have stayed in several holiday cottages over the years. We both agreed that this is the best one yet. It has everything you would need - a real home from home. It is spotlessly clean as well as being tastefully decorated and nice and warm. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped, likewise the bathroom. The garden is also spacious and very well kept with a variety of interesting plants and shrubs. Fast and reliable Wifi is provided. On arrival, the owner was there to welcome us and to assure us that he would be always available should any questions or problems arise. He was very pet friendly. He also rang the evening before we left to ask if we had enjoyed our stay - the first time that has happened. All in all a wonderful place to stay which we could not recommend more highly."

"We were very impressed with this cottage. It was so well equipped and beautifully decorated. It was truly a home from home. The only thing missing was a downstairs toilet, (as I was with an elderly relative that would have been useful as the stairs are hard for him) but that's being picky. The Internet was good and the location nice, with some lovely dog walks around . It's a bit of a walk to the shops but not too far. The pub at the end of the road The Chequer Tree had amazing steaks. The rail link to London was from Great Missenden and took around 38 mins. A taxi to the station was around £6 it was £4 to park in the station but spaces are non existent during the week, so I would advise a cab if you are going to venture into the city."

"This is an amazing holiday home and a truly unique experience. Our party consisted of 3 families (6 adults and 4 children) and we all adored S16868 and would thoroughly recommend a stay here.As well as having the novelty of staying in a windmill, you will find it is also furnished and decorated throughout to a high standard with lots of home comforts and a lovely garden to finish.Wendover is a very nice little town with lots of nice pubs and restaurants in lovely old buildings and all in walking distance. One night we came back and we all played sardines, which in the dark over 5 storeys was hilarious. The adults enjoyed it as much as the kids! Finally, Liz, the owner, was very helpful and friendly."
