"A lovely barn, clean, well equipped and well kept. (Albeit as a dog owner you are asked politely to hoover after you and take the bins out when leaving). It's nice and close to a stocked carp/ mixed course fishing lake, that is well maintained and generally fishes well . The average carp size for us, being around 7 -12 lb, that generally came out on floating dog biscuit or bread. (There are bigger in there!) Bream, Perch, and Roach also came out on our stay.Peacock barn is situated just outside the small village of Timberland in the picturesque Fens countryside, with lots of wildlife on offer. We heard owls, foxes, saw plenty of kestrels, butterflies, pheasants, red legged partridges, etc. While we had to travel by car to find a local Supermarket, the village did have a local pub, 'The Penny Farthing'. It is a pleasant 10-15min walk away and serves an excellent homemade Steak and Ale pie, and lovely Lincolnshire sausages and mash! Highly recommended!!!The only 2 drawbacks we had on our stay were a very firm bed, a tad uncomfortable for us, and very rough underfoot, shower mats! The owners Adam and Amanda were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the barn, the fishing, and the local area. They were always on hand to help, often popping around the lake to see how we were getting on, or to offer advice if we needed it, or simply to listen to any concerns we had. Amanda even stood outside on the road, to guide us into the grounds, when we first arrived!Would definitely like to return for another visit."

"Nice location and lovely accommodation. Warm welcome and with eggs, milk and cake for us on arrival it made the long drive worth it. One grumble I have is that, yes, pets can stay and there is a charge for this, not a problem with that. But its not until you arrive that you are informed by a notice on the wall explaining that dogs are not allowed upstairs or in any bedroom, which only leaves the kitchen/dinning area. There are no means supplied to stop them going upstairs. You basically pay to allow your dog to stay in one room, while everybody is upstairs, which is difficult unless you have a cage and stair gate with you. Beside this, Jane made us feel very welcome without being intrusive and we would recommend to others."

"We stayed here for Xmas 2017. We had 6 adults & 2 children. It was a lovely barn but we felt for 8 people the oven wasn't big enough. Especially for xmas dinner. The barn was nicely decorated for xmas. There was no plastic plates etc for the children. The kettle had no filter & so the lime went into your drinks. We also paid £25 per dog which we thought was a bit much as we always clean when leaving anyway. £25 for the two of them would have been enough for the extra work they made. They weren't allowed upstairs in the lounge so only stayed in their crates in the kitchen area. There was a good enclosed garden for them. We enjoyed the week but felt it needed a few extras like games, dvds etc."

"The cottage was lovely and spacious, I holidayed with my Husband, Mother and our 7 year old Weimaraner, it was very well equipped the only thing it lacked for us was a Wok. the property was very central and there was plenty to do within the area being just over 20 miles to the coast or Lincoln or Boston. Horncastle is just 1.5miles away with plenty of shops for your needs, I recommend a visit to the Church in Horncastle absolutely beautiful inside not open during the week in winter but open on a Saturday, we happened to be there for the remembrance day service it was amazing, it made me feel very proud of our nation. "Lovely greeting from Poppy the collie dog on arrival. The barn was warm and welcoming and there was a welcome pack which we appreciated, plus a pint of milk ready for our use. The beds were very comfortable, even the single ones my daughter informed me. We would have given the Barn an overall rating of 10 but for one small hiccup and that was the shower door in the downstairs bathroom jammed each time you shut it. I personally had to call for help to get me out. Other than that would highly recommend the barn for a holiday."
