"This is the best self catering accomodation we have stayed in to date. The extras throughout the barn were amazing. Thre double bedrooms all with ensuites, TVs in bedrooms and bathrooms! All modern fittings. Bathrooms very luxurious. Comfortable lounge with another TV! Huge dining table! Kitchen well supplied, ample cooking untensils and plenty of cutlery and crockery. Great views all round. Very secluded spot but only 10 minute walk to nearest pub with very nice food! Looking out of each window you feel very much isolated and so quiet compared to area we live. Bird song and occassional sheep bleating was all you could hear. Owners live next door with thier two dogs. Very friendly and playful dogs. From the barn there are views down to the Holligsworth Lake which has a footpath round it for great walks and cafes at various points. Not far from bigger towns if needed but local village had everything we needed. Would love to go back at some point in the future. Barn is very well equiped throughout. Welcome pack upon arrival was a lovely touch. Plenty of towels etc and laundry room. All in all a great place to stay. Thoroughly recommend."

"We really felt at home in Wood Cottage. It is really comfortable, well equipped and just about everything is thought of. The only 'complaint' we had was it was too warm to use the stove in the living room! I would definitely recommend Wood Cottage to family and friends. Plenty of room for 5 of us to spread out and feel like we had our own space, without having to go to the bedrooms. As others have said, the photos do not show how spacious it is. Our 2 dogs were also easily accommodated and the office made the ideal room for them to sleep in at night. Communication with the owner, Rik, was easy and he was very quick to respond. The canal is a very short walk away, as is Tesco's and the local pub, the Navigation Inn. We had 2 meals at the Navigation and they were delicious. There is lots to do in the surrounding area, with most attractions etc being no more than around half an hour's drive at the most. I can also recommend the Bridgehouse Bakery in Whaley Bridge too - amazing cakes etc. All in all, a great holiday in a wonderful setting. We would love to return for another visit."

"More attention to detail is needed when cleaning, particularly in the storage area in loft bedroom and the loft bathroom. Bed linen has seen better days. Some kitchen utensils sticky and baking trays definitely seen better days. Table mats sticky and dirty. The grass needed cutting which made it unpleasant to sit in the garden. No welcome pack so beware if you are arriving late. Stairs are very steep and there is no toilet on ground floor. Steps into front door very steep although it is easier to go in the back door. Designated car parking space was apparently repaired on our last day however there is still a dip on driving into it and there are lots of pot holes. You either have to reverse in or out and along a long narrow road. You cannot see the car from the cottage. There is parking on the road however which is a safer bet.Good information packs available about surrounding areas with places to visit, walks, etc.Good base to visit this beautiful part of the country if the cleaning issues are dealt with, in a lovely little village with lots of local amenities and lovely walks."

"My family and I had a lovely time wandering around the peaks next to Ellers bank cottage. The cottage was very well equipped and we had a very nice fire in the wood burner on the last day as the weather became cooler. (we brought our own logs and kindling with us to continue the fire as there is a starter set only) We took our dog, a small Springer, with us. I made sure she was always cleaned off before she entered the living room after having been out. There were a lot of steep stairs so I would not recommend anyone to stay in this cottage if they have issues with mobility. Also in the small garden area, it is a tiny yard which is accessible to other households and there are steps leading up to a small grass area with a table. All in all, we had a few wonderful days staying at this cottage, it was quirky and just in the right place for many walks to the peaks, only a few minutes walk to the town of hayfield, pubs and local shops to buy provisions from."

"We enjoyed our time in Dewsnap Spring - however, at our age we did find the sofa rather low and my wife had difficulty getting up from it! That said the property was well appointed and kitted out. When we first used the washing machine the machine would not spin and dry the clothes. This was because the water drain was blocked with what looked like tissue paper pulp and bits of plastic, which we were able to clean out from the front access point. Regrettably, we also found that the top part of the dishwasher was not working and the crockery was not cleaned. This was due to the internal water feed pipe from the from the bottom rotor point had been knocked and was disconnected from its mounting. Once found this was easy to sort out as it just needed to be pushed home. In both these instances once the minor problems had been sorted out the appliances worked fine."
