"We researched many properties before deciding upon S105456. Our reasons for choosing it were location, facilities within the property, local village setting, parking and of course the hot tub!Overall, our expectations were met/exceeded. The property is well positioned with a comfortable living area/dining room, well equipped kitchen with everything we needed, three good bedrooms, one en-suite shower room/toilet, a family bathroom/shower/toilet, good garden and hot tub area. There is dedicated parking onsite and ample on road parking for additional cars. The property is walking distance from everything you could want in the village including café, pubs, fish 'n' chips shop, local butchers and a well used Co-op (open from 7am-11pm!).South Brent is well positioned in the middle between going west to Plymouth for a great day out and east to Torquay, Paignton and Brixham - or further afield north to Bude in Cornwall, Bideford, Westward Ho!. Our beach days were spent at the fabulous location of Bigbury-on-Sea which has a fantastic beach, parking and facilities - approx 45mins drive from South Brent. And a number of other days out, at the end of which you come back to a relaxing time in the hot tub early evening or even late night!Locally there are great restaurants and pubs to choose from - recommendations in the literature at the property. Those we visited had great menus and fantastic service.Overall, we had a fantastic week at S105456. We loved the property and the village, We would absolutely recommend booking with Rikki, Dawn and Hannah who were on hand (via mobile) to make sure our stay was as comfortable and convenient as required. Oh! nearly forgot to mention a well selected and stocked Welcome Pack - a very nice touch, lovely surprise (not for you now!) and very welcome!"

"Extremely spacious rooms which ensured that the children could play and enjoy themselves while the adults had copious space. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped. There was enough crockery to cater several times over the maximum number of guests. The building itself was full of character with its quirky walls and floors. There was also good outside space in the garden with large table and chairs for when the weather was kind. The swimming pool was well appreciated by the children and unlike many pools was warm and did not take your breath away when taking the plunge. The children also enjoyed seeing the chickens either wandering around or in their large chicken pen. There is a childrens' play ground but it is fairly basic. The one thing we missed was adequate drying facilities for the washing when the weather did not allow you to use the outside drying lines. The hosts were very friendly and amenable. They provided nice little touches such as fresh flowers in the dining room, an initial batch of free eggs (which could then be purchased daily), and a batch of extremely tasty cakes on arrival."

"Had a lovely few days in this charming S18782 - ideal for the two of us and our old Golden Retriever, who loved lying out in the courtyard in the sunshine. Ideally situated for touring around Dartmoor & the South Hams, and nearby Moretonhampstead has some great dog-friendly pubs & cafes (had one of the best pub meals ever in The Horse) as well as a well-stocked Co-op, open until 10pm. Wi-fi worked fine for us (admittedly we weren't gaming or streaming videos, but who wants that on a break in the country anyway?). Pam and Alison are lovely, welcoming hosts who clearly work hard to ensure the lodges are well-equipped and comfortable (including home-baked cakes, flowers and fresh milk on arrival). Spotless bathroom/shower, comfy bed, lots of woodland to explore with the dog, and excellent TV/freesat. One of the best places we've stayed and we plan to go back."

"Lovely farmhouse and good location. It was spacious with a beautiful garden and in a lovely, quiet location surrounded by farm animals. However, with a party of 9 (including two young children) it really does need a second shower; one shower is not sufficient -there was a bath (no shower over bath) but this was not really practical. Also, the back garden has an opening that leads directly onto a busy road and with young children this caused us some concern; we felt that this definitely needed a gate as it was not safe. The information on the farmhouse on-line does need up-dating, in regards to the bath/shower facilities, it also advises that there is a charge for the Wi-Fi per device but Wi-Fi is free and the wood burning stove is no longer in use. Overall we had great holiday and the sun shone almost every day!"

"The property was clean and tidy although quite a few things were broken i.e. drawers in both bedrooms, down-lighter bulbs in the kitchen not working or flickering, toilet roll holder hanging off. There are good integrated utilities in the kitchen but lacks small necessities like potato peeler, scissors, pizza cutters etc. No glasses suitable for beer. There is no shelving in the en suite bathroom or shower to put anything on and so everything has to go on the floor. The light switch is on the far end of the bedrooms, so you have to wander around in the dark to get in bed, a bedside light would suffice, bathroom fan too noisy to leave light on. These are small but very annoying things which could easily be put right, otherwise it is a comfortable property to stay in."
