"We loved our week's stay at this beautiful cottage, set in stunning surroundings and a perfect home from home to explore all Wales has to offer. The cottage itself was well equipped with all the essentials you could need, clean, tidy and well maintained. The bedrooms were very well furnished and comfortable, our children loved sharing the second bedroom and loved the fact they could look out of the window whilst laying in bed. The gardens were lovely, set in the hill side with breath taking views, a "pirate ship" and the hot tub, raised decking area and a warm and relaxing summer house....... whats not to love!! Whilst the cottage was close enough to the town and shops, we feel the only thing that let it down slightly was how close it was to the road. And whilst it wasn't a main road, at times it could be busy and the traffic noise sometimes annoying, although saying that after a few days we barely even noticed it. The local pub was warm, welcoming and served a nice pint. The local shops were perfect, with everything from your big supermarkets to smaller village shops, fish and chips shops, petrol stations and places to eat and drink. We feel the cottage was brilliant value for money and we will definitely be back."

"tis is a lovely property - one of 6 available for hire. Very nicely decorated. The wooden floors, windows and doors are lovely. Very light and spacious. Very comfortable. Beautiful setting. Very quiet - about 15 minutes from Aberearon. Very clean. Owner very nice and helpful. Not much I would change. Perhaps another shelf in the en suites and in the showers for storage of toiletries as not enough at present. Some new table mats.Plus a list of local phone numbers re doctors, dentists etc - not just a few takeaway leaflets might be very helpful.Almost a 10! A stair/dog gate could also be a useful addition.Dog friendly but please take note there is no enclosed garden. The gardens are terraced with staggered walls (in height) that dogs may like to jump over - supervision is required for smaller dogs and puppies especially. There are green areas for them to play on but nothing to keep them in - other than fence keeping them out of sheep field. We have a border collie puppy and we managed fairly well. You just cant put them in the gardens for a few minutes unless they are old/reliable."

"There is a marvelous view of Aberystwyth and the sea from the cottage, and you can watch the golfers on the other side of the valley. S27043 was very well equipped, and had a wide choice of books, DVDs and childrens games in case of inclement weather. The television had all the freeview channels, plus a good range of movies on demand which were available without further payment. The internet worked well, and there is a very strong mobile signal. The property is accessed by a narrow road which serves several other properties, but has limited passing places. Care must be taken, as in some places there are steep drops at the side of the road if you stray off the tarmac surface. I would say that a car is essential as you need to drive into Aberystwyth to get to the shops. There is a way you can walk from the cottage to the attractions at the top of the cliff railway, but it is not a direct route. We had a pleasant stay, our dog was well catered for, the owner was friendly, and had three old English sheepdogs himself. We have no hesitation in recommending this property"

"When we arrived at S37419 there was an overwhelming smell of fuel oil which was intolerable. I suffer with COPD and Asthma and the fumes were so bad i struggled to breathe. I did contact the owner and he did come that evening and dicovered that the oil fired boiler was leaking in the bathroom area which he could not repair at the time. 24 hours later someone came to look at it again and replaced a leaking tap, but the lagging on the boiler was soaked in oil and so the smell remained. The fumes were all around the house and we had to sleep with all the windows open and it was cold and we could not sleep because the fumes were so strong in the bedroom also. The heater in summerhouse did not work so using the hot tub was ruled out. We left a day earlier because of the fumes and the fact i felt so unwell. Really dissapointed and would expect some money back as i am still getting over the fumes a week after arriving home/"

"Beautiful property and very clean, however the sofas in the back lounge were old and you had to keep taking them off and replace for comfort. The single beds were uncomfortable to sleep on possibly need new mattresses. The area and views were outstanding but nothing local to walk to ie shop pub (closed in the day). We had two young children and they were looking forward to playing in the onsite play area, but unfortunately it was so boggy with mud they couldn’t enjoy it. This would be a recommendation for the owners to focus on for future bookings with children. Local towns were about 20-30 min drive with very little around other than seaside trinket shops. Some lovely places to eat/drink. If your looking for a chilled out time not wanting to venture far then this area would be just right."
