What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Culrain To Rent.

"The property was very nice and cosy, if I was to comment about things it would be this :- 1) There was no gate to the driveway so any child or pet that was unsupervised even if unwittingly, could have come into contact with a vehicle that passed down the lane adjacent, sometimes at speed.2) The initial fuel was to say the least scant in amount.3) The towels although clean spelt sour.4) There was a power outage during our stay and the only source of other light was one very small wind up torch found in the fuse cupboard, totally insufficient for 9 people if fully booked.5) Was led to believe that the hob was gas powered, only to find it was electric, so during power outage no facilities whatsoever.6) Shower cubicle downstairs overflowed, had been mentioned by other previous guests.7) Were expected to put a bin out which contained last weeks guests rubbish as collection was fortnightly for both rubbish and recycling, where was the caretaker?8) House book said pets not to be exercised in garden, to be kept on leads whilst in garden and only to be left to sleep in either kitchen, hall or utility room, kitchen ok but utility a very small box room suitable for a spaniel I have a Newfoundland (82kg in weight) size dog. Perhaps better if owner said no dogs if not really made welcome.Although property etc very nice, thought house book slightly dictatorial."

"Balintore has an award winning beach ,some nice walks and is close to some lovely towns and visitor attractions making it a nice area in which to stay. The house is a strange mix with a large kitchen and upstairs lounge which are quite pleasant. The bedrooms and bathrooms suffer from relatively poor quality/overused bedding and towels and an investment in these and improved curtains would improve things. Some of the windows appear to be locked with no keys apparent which could represent a bit of a fire risk. The Aga and central heating allowed us to enjoy good warmth.Mr Skinner, the owner , was friendly, attentive and well intentioned. Were he to invest as suggested, to improve certain quality items, the justification of the relatively high weeks rental would be enhanced. The house has potential but needs some monies spent on it."

"The cottage was big and spacious, and the lady who takes care of the property was lovely and helpful. We felt that the cottage was particularly dated and in need of a real deep clean, much of the fixtures were coming to the end of their life potentially and the cottage was not particularly well equipped compared to others we have stayed in.Suggestions - more glasses / children's plastic plates and cups / please fence of and secure part of the lovely large garden, as we couldn't use it safely with 3 kids under 5 / Some info and leaflets about the local area and attractions was sorely missed...we couldn't get any signal to get online and google stuff ourselves so this would have been very useful / Get wifi!!!"

"Nice building and location let down by a lack of maintenance and poor equipment, Windows that would not open including a bathroom one a bedroom window jammed slightly open, frosted double glazed units, wobbly toilet seat, broken kitchen chairs, wobbly coffee table, broken dishwasher, leaking washing machine, leaking kettle, gas hob no ignition spark, sink plug chains detached, poor quality bedding/ mattresses and towels and the list can go on!There was no Welcome/ information pack, no upto date safety certificates and the guest visitors book had it's pages ripped out. No outdoor seating equipment except for 3 old plastic chairs for a party of 10. Overall very disappointed."

"Warm and comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for - even a tea cosy! Ideal for dog owners, with a utility space and shower as you walk in the door so you can get rid of mud before entering. Forest walks and bike trailsstart just along the road. WiFi was great, phones worked in the back bedroom. We voyaged out in all directions and visited the Castle of Mey, Inverewe Gardens etc and really liked Dornoch. Our only negative feedback would be that there was no view over the water as the trees screen it off and the proximity to the road makes it a wee bit noisy if you sit outside in the garden to drink your tea. All in all, we had a lovely time."
