"We stayed here in April school holidays as a family of 5 - 2 kids (13 & 15), parents and Grandmother. The location of Crantock is excellent for exploring Cornwall as most areas are within a one hour drive. The house is in a central location yet very peaceful with lovely open views to the rear and a glimpse of sea from the upstairs lounge. Ample parking although be cautious if reversing out of the drive. Plenty of bedrooms and in fact we didn't use one of them. There is a very small local shop (Londis) which sells most items you would need and there are two pubs. We took a walk to the beach which wasn't too far. The beach is lovely with some massive dunes which my son loved climbing. The cottage itself was immaculate in cleanliness with good quilts and pillows. The mattresses unfortunately in our opinion were far too soft and gave us back ache. All bedrooms of a good size and each has its own electric heater. The bathrooms were good with fantastic showers, There is a big fridge freezer in the utility room on the ground floor (useful as only a small one upstairs in the kitchen) and a good quality washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs is a lovely sized kitchen/diner and lounge with log burner which we didn't need to use as it was nice and warm without it. Ample kitchen accessories and generally very well equipped. Perhaps a re-organisation needed in order to make more cupboard space for shopping. Nice TV and DVD player in the lounge and a couple of large bean bags which the kids liked. In summer the garden would be a nice size for younger kids to enjoy. The garden has a decked area with outdoor dining furniture which looked nice but we didn't use due to it still being a little on the colder side in April. Off the decked area is a sliding door giving access to the "games room". This room is carpeted and contains the cushions for the garden furniture, a nice TV on the wall and a football table. First of all I would say that the TV and football table make it a great area to hang out. However, the football table has suffered a lot of wear and tear and whilst playing some of the bolts weakened so we had to continually tighten them (we have a modern outdoor football table at home so knew how to do this, but not difficult). Secondly the room absolutely stank of wet dog (we also have a dog so know the smell!). To be honest it was really unpleasant. It is a great little area but in my opinion I would re-carpet and re-paint to get rid of the smell. Outside there is also a shower for washing off wet suits etc. Over the years we have stayed in many cottages across the UK and despite a couple of minor issues such as the mattresses and the smell of the games room, it really was lovely and you wont be disappointed if you stay here - in fact, probably one of the better cottages we have stayed in."

"I had originally booked it for a three generation family holiday but had to change our plans because of a very early new arrival. It would have worked equally well for the family, however. As adults it was perfectly positioned for all of our plans, from St.Ives to Padstow to The Eden Project to stunning coastal walks. The house itself is beautifully modern and the ‘upside down’ open plan nature of the layout is a real winner. Even on a stormy Saturday the lashing of rain on the floor to ceiling windows was dramatically romantic! The kitchen was excellently equipped (although The Stove cooker was a little complicated!) and the bathrooms very modern. Linens were excellent and the house cosy and well insulated. An enclosed garden remained unused by us but would be great for children. We were too busy to take advantage of it and the weather wasn’t quite conducive to barbecueing. Crantock is a lovely unspoilt village with a great village shop and local pub. The beach is stunningly beautiful although I would say that it isn’t an ideal beach for young children because of the tidal estuary. They would, though, have fun on the sand and in the sand dunes. I would highly recommend ‘S82434’ for any time of year if you are a lover, as we are, of Cornwall."

"The apartment was spotless, beds soft, bathroom clean, in fact every utliity required for a holiday in Cornwall where the weather can turn just when you least expect it. The attention to detail was excellent, including a Wii and a retro playstation with a selection of dvds to watch. Wifi is also included for teenagers and those who cannot tear themselves away from work. Hayle has a scattering of shops and takeaways within easy distance and Asda is literally seconds down the road. There is a coastal path to walk behind the property, excellent if you are a bird watcher or for walking the dog and there is also access to the beautiful beaches in Hayle. After such hectic days spent exploring, knowing that there was a beautiful place to return to and relax was a delight. "

"This property is highly recommended. The location in the village is second to none & only a 10 minute stroll to Crantock beach. The welcome pack on arrival is a lovely gesture The property was clean, comfortable & fully equipped if you wanted to do self-catering but there are many lovely restaurants in the area to visit The decking was lovely to sit out on for breakfast in the sunshine & superb for a evening drink. It's also equipped for a barbecue Was fabulous having three bathrooms so can all get ready at the same time - the water was constantly hot & showers powerful All in all - we had a fantastic stay & will be making a return visit"
