"Visited for a family 90th birthday get-together. 15 adults and 2 children, ages ranging from 4 to 90. The property is very spacious and quirky, with plenty of room to escape if you need some quiet time. The kitchen is an especially social space and the aga was very welcome in the chilly January weather - as well as cooking sausages for breakfast, it was a boon for keeping the tea towels dry and warm! The dining room table didn't seat everyone round it, but we pushed the other two round tables next to it, so we managed to all sit together. The only slight downside was the arrangement of the bedrooms, or rather the beds in them. Two couples ended up sharing the room with two doubles, but it was okay. Just a point to note. More bathrooms would have been welcome, but it would be difficult to achieve this given the age and layout of the property. Having said all that, we had a brilliant time and would definitely consider going back if the occasion arose. The hot tub and gym were a great addition."

"The house it's self was lovely, very big and a good size for our group. As we had 4 toddlers/babies with us the steps in and out of a lot of the rooms was a problem for us and there were no baby gates provider to enable areas to be blocked off for safety. Neither of the fires had fire guards so we were unable to use them during the day as it was dangerous for the children. The property although clean looking at a glance needs a good deep clean and a bit of TLC. There were cobwebs on light fittings and between the ceiling beams, the skirting boards in the lounge weren't attached to the wall properly and kept falling over and the Summer house needs a good paint and freshen up as it looks tired. The master bedroom was very cold during our stay and an extra heater had to be brought in to warm the room up as the radiators weren't getting hot enough in that room. The rest of the house was warm enough though."

"The worst cottage I have stayed in! No hot tub so false advertising which was previously mentioned from other visitors. Snooker table was torn and the cushions were taped on to the table so it was impossible to have a game of snooker. Again false advertisingSauna did not give out heat despite leaving it on for over an hour. You cannot sit on the living room sofa's due to the cushions being worn out which resulted to us watching a movie on the floor. Again this was mentioned on previous reviewsThe stairs to go upstairs to the bedrooms creaks which kept waking up childNo blanket or pillow case covers Small green insects on the wall of the living room Plates and glasses had a smell of off fish"

"This cottage is in a stunning location and has the added bonus of a swimming pool. The things that let it down were the seriously uncomfortable beds and sofas. The bathroom had no soap and the shower pressure was awful. The shower curtain was grubby and the bath mat was torn and well past its best. We had 1 and a half toilets rolls for our one week stay. The kitchen utensils were very poor quality, and again no soap to be found. The vibrations from the washing machine created an earthquake on the ground floor and woke our baby upstairs. We would stay here again because it is a beautiful rural retreat. We would just pack differently next time and use the washing machine during the day !"

"We visited the S73909 in September for 4 days. We were a group of 14 runners taking part in the Serpentine Race at Sedgefield. It was a fantastic weekend in a wonderful house. The rooms were spacious and clean, tastefully decorated, with enough room for everyone. The highlight was without doubt the community room on the ground floor , big enough for us all to dine together, also a bar and billiard table.Outside in the grounds there was a barbecue area and seating for all of us.We felt at home from the first moment we were there, and have already booked again for next year. The hosts were excellent, all our wishes being fullfilled, it couldn't have been better."
