What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In County Durham To Rent.

"A perfect holiday cottage in a fabulous location, stunning views in both directions. There was a welcome pack of bread, chocolates, biscuits and wine on arrival, with fresh flowers in the kitchen. The cottage's decoration is exactly right - clean and fresh while absolutely in keeping with the age of the cottage. Lots of characterful touches too such as the lamps on the bedside tables, comfy cushions and throws to make the place really snug. Great weather so we didn't need the log burner but am sure it would be really cosy in colder weather too. Ample parking for us at the front and a lovely secure sun-trap garden at the back. Sharon and James have thought of everything to make it the ideal base for exploring Weardale."

"Stayed at White Nettle on probably the coldest week of 2018 and found cottage to be cosy and comfortable even with the original stone flagged floor found in these 100+year old homes. Excellently equipped with everything you need, even a coffee machine. Sharon and James welcomed us with an excellent starting package of home made bread, courtesy of James recently baking classes, home made scrumptious ginger cookies, milk and last but not least a bottle of wine. A lovely touch to start off our holiday. Yes, we would return and yes, we would thoroughly recommend the cottage. We wish Sharon and James all the best and hope their new venture is successful."

"We left the UK 8 years ago to live in Central France - The Granary was the ideal location for us to return home to spend New Year with family living locally. We have 3 dogs which were welcomed. The property simply has everything that you could possibly need, including toiletries and a very thoughtful welcome pack that included home baked chocolate brownies and a bottle of Cava. The owners are friendly and approachable, but respect fully the privacy of guests. The kitchen is stunning (we love to cook) - beautiful bathrooms, with luxury towels included - bedrooms wonderful, with luxury bedding - just superb."

"This beautiful, characterful cottage was just perfect for our holiday. We loved the stone floors, original fireplaces and stained glass windows in the main bedroom! The cottage was immaculately clean, so comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed and more. The enclosed garden was safe for our dog and had lovely views across the hills. The owners made us feel very welcome with treats galore on our arrival, including delicious home baked bread, biscuits, a bottle of wine, chocolates and fresh flowers on the table! We would not hesitate to stay there again and highly recommend a visit."

"WiFi is a problem or should I say the lack of. But if you go outside and stand by the pub opposite then it’s fine. Everything else fine. Lovely little cottage. Very friendly owners. Great that they left bread wine etc on our arrival. Sitting out front very pleasant though your car is parked right in front of you. The weather was fabulous. Such a beautiful village. Lovely to see House Sparrows and Swallows Etc. All the Beed butterflies and so many beautiful cottage gardens. So peaceful at night. The pub opposite is fantastic great food. Lots of place to walk. All in all a very pleasant stay."
