"S14763 is clean, comfortable, and particularly well-equipped, especially in the kitchen that has a good range of good quality cooking resources, including sharp knives, plates of all sizes, and there is a radio in the kitchen area. The conservatory catches the sun from mid morning onward and is a great space for relaxing. S14763 is ideal for families, as there is a range of toys, games, and children's books, as well as large TV and DVD player, with a good range of films, for both adults and children, to view. The beds are comfortable, and the village, Whorlton, is a quiet, peaceful and friendly place, with walks directly from S14763, or within easy driving distance. The Tee Valley is a relatively unknown part of northern Britain, and certainly deserves to be 'discovered' - the walks along the upper Tees valley are beautiful. We enjoyed our stay at S14763 and will return. There are only two drawbacks - and the second of these may not be for some; it certainly wasn't for us. The first are the low beams in the upper bedroom - a tall person will have to watch their head; the second is absence of internet connection in S14763, although their is an adequate signal for the more up to date smartphones. S14763 is also a very convenient point for visiting other nearby towns, obviously Barnard's Castle, but also Richmond, Leyburn, and Darlington; York &Harrogate are only an hour's drive away, too."

"We had a lovely stay here for my mothers 90th birthday. For this the downstairs bedroom and bathroom with walk in shower was a must as Mum can't climb stairs.S14763 was spacious and cozy, fully equipped with everything you could need other than a phone or internet. Some people love that is absent in order to "Get away from it all" but for me it was a drawback as I am used to researching thinks to do, routes etc on the internet and my mobile phone signal was non existent so I felt a bit cut off.S14763 is in a lovely quiet village with walks from the doorstep and easy access to so many wonderful areas and places of interest we hope to come back. The local pub (Less than 100 meters away with WI-Fi!)The Furnavilles Rest does great food and was very welcoming and helpful, the landlord sorting me out a bag of logs for our stay in a wintry February. My low local amenities score is purely down to the fact that there is nothing else in the village, meaning that you need to get into the car to shop etc. However Barnard Castle is only 3 miles away so this really is not an issue unless you have had too many pints of Furnalilles Best!"

"Lovely little cottage in a lovely location. Really enjoyed the walk along the river from the door step with the kids and the dog. Didn't see the Kingfisher but we did see a Dipper for those of you in to your wild life. The river is very shallow but there a few little pools past the treatment plant where you can see some small fish if you look hard enough and know what to look for. We drove in to Cockfield ( under 5 min drive) for a nice Chinese takeaway on the Sat evening. Had trouble finding somewhere to buy logs for the fire as the Co op in Cockfield doesn't sell them so might be worth taking a few with you if you enjoy a nice log burning fire or I'm sure if you contact the owners before you arrive and ask them to leave some that you can purchase they will. They do kindly leave enough for the 1st night and also provide a welcome pack including a bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture. We had a great weekend in this lovely place but next time would probably stay somewhere within walking distance to a pub that does food."

"We were disappointed that the garden wasn't enclosed having taken two dogs and it being on a very busy main road. The house was nice, however, needed some maintenance such as broken toilet seats, oven fan and heating elements and overall cleanliness. We found evidence of mice, bedding looked like it had been screwed up before being put on which made us question the cleanliness, evidence of balloons and party poppers from previous guests that hadn't been cleaned up. Overall, location was okay- even near the busy road- lots of nice walks with the dogs and easy to access local area. Owner of the property very nice and lovely welcome pack. The cleanliness was the biggest problem. You don't expect to go to a property and see mice droppings, stains of what we assume are from animals on carpets and broken facilities. We wouldn't stay again as we felt it was expensive for what it offered, asked the enclosed garden and had very poor standards for arriving guests."

"We have just stayed at S37795 for 10 days and could quite happily have extended our holiday. The kitchen, although small, is well kitted out including a washing machine and full sized fridge freezer plus all utensils. The bed was super comfy, plus bedroom had full length mirror and a good amount of hangers in the wardrobe, which is fab. The lounge was quite cosy with lots of lovely finishing touches and a nice little conservatory all gave a homely feel. Our only gripe was the parking! Although it states that there is designated parking for the cottage in the description, this is mostly taken up by customers going to the pub right opposite, or customers parking right outside the kitchen window, which felt quite intrusive. But we would definitely stay here again, as this is not a major issue, but I feel it should be mentioned. As I say, we would absolutely stay at S37795 again and definitely recommend it"
