"A lovely place to stay if you want total peace and quiet! It's a lovely cottage, very well equipped - the kitchen is large and has everything you could want. The woodburner is effective - the central heating is run from it, so you do need to keep it going if it's chilly. The bed is very comfortable and sleeping in total silence is a real treat. Web didn't use the sofa bed as a bed, but as a sofa it's perfect for curling up in front of the fire. We didn't use the games in the cupboard but there are loads of them! The lovely owners live next door and are very helpful, but will leave you to enjoy the peace without interruption. Dog owners - no dogs on the furniture (fair enough) and be aware that the garden is shared, so you're asked not to exercise dogs there. There are loads of nearby walks, beaches and quiet country lanes, so this really isn't a problem. You're asked to remove pet hair etc before you leave (again, that's fair enough) but with mostly hard flooring and a good Dyson, that was a ten-minute whip round. If muddy paws need a wash after a walk, there's a mop bucket and an outside tap - there are dog towels supplied too!Ruthwell Church with its stunning 8th Century Cross is an easy 10 minute walk along the lane."

"Stayed at cottage from 6th July-13th July, location, scenery and hot tub fabulous although hot tub was not the cleanest when we arrived although my husband had mentioned this concern to owners after reading previous visitors reviews. They ought to be maintaining hot tub daily especially when a party of 6 as we were are using it daily. The cottage itself was a huge disappointment 😔 back bedrooms bed is badly broken and expect a visit to chiropractors after your stay. Extractor for cooker not working, dining table leg broken, one of single beds broken, practically no running hot water in bathroom sink and not much power in shower. No bike shed as stated, front bedroom wardrobe doors broken, bbq filthy on arrival, hoover smelt of wet dog which was absolutely disgusting also musty smell in bedroom cupboard aswell as throughout whole cottage on arrival. Overall was really dissatisfied would recommend overhaul and replacement of many items especially the hoover. In no way good value for money costing much more than it’s worth. Certainly would not be returning 😡😡"

"A fantastic location. A real gem of a place and especially great for the dogs. Our 2 cocker spaniels absolutely loved the walks from the house. We were spoilt rotten with the huge garden then through the gate into the even bigger field followed by a walk through the woods. The weather for us was just how we liked it, nice and cold, then back into the house for a warm welcome from the Rayburn. Isobel and Bob were very helpful especially when I accidentally turned the Rayburn off and they came out to sort it. We loved the visit from the labradors each day and they helped bring one of my shy dogs (Jasper) out of his shell. Overall we would have given it a ten out of ten but the sofa and chairs in the lounge could have been a tad comfier. We will definitely be back hopefully in the winter. Thanks and hope to see you again, Simon and Donna and 2 very happy dogs."

"We enjoyed a wonderful time in the most beautiful but spacious cottage at Wester Coshieville. Set up a lovely little farm track, which immediately helps you escape the rest of the world as you park up with stunning 360 degree views of the Scottish highlands.Made to feel so incredibly welcome on arrival, aided by the (still warm!) delicious home made lemon drizzle cake and fantastic food hamper, and then throughout our stay - even afterwards by returning the necklace our daughter left behind! The cottage has been recently converted to a high quality finish with gorgeous attention to detail - the cottage made our visit, we could easily have spent our entire stay indoors but with such amazing walks on the doorstep that wasn't an option. Already looking forward to our return visit! Thank you so much - George, Jill, Jessica & Bailey 🐾"

"Westervale is in a great location. Close enough to the village but also far enough away for piece and quite. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are about an hour away. The cottage had a few niggles, no name plate on the cottage. When we arrived in the dark I had to guess we were at the right place. The decking around the hot tub hasn’t been swept for awhile, orange slices, fag ends and tea lights littered the decking. No outside light when in the hot tub, The open fire hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time, I emptied a bin bags worth of ash from under the grate. The living/dinning room feels quite small with such a large melted tv on the wall above the fire. A lot of the kitchen utensils are broken. I probably wouldn’t book again"
