"Right from the off the booking process was easy and carried through with efficiency. I received all the relevant information promptly without fuss. From initial contact by phone to meeting the hosts, Jill and Rick, we were received with kindness and warmth. The premises though simple were clean, warm and cosy decorated in a homely fashion with considered thought and care, in keeping with a traditional croft cottage. If your preference is for 5 star or minimalist accommodation then Stone Ewe Cottage may not be for you. The cottage is located in an area of stunning views, convenient for setting off on walks, climbing, kayaking and many other activities. While only being 6 miles from Gairloch where most needs can be met regarding food, petrol, meals etc. I have been in many self catering cottages in the Highlands over the last 25 years and would rate Stone Ewe cottage as one of the nicest and most cosy, with kind, friendly Hosts."

"Tigh an Lasgair is a superb place to stay if you want complete solitude. There are neighbours but you can't see them from the house. The house is big enough to sleep 6 people very comfortably, with 3 double bedrooms (1 with twin beds) and 2 shower rooms (1 with a bath). Very well equiped. Very warm and cosy with underfloor heating and woodburner, though we found this was not needed even in March. Beautiful views. Some fab beaches nearby. Nearest pub/restaurant/shop about 10 miles away in Sheildaig. The food at the Coastal Kitchen was fab. Applecross Inn about 14 miles. Good seafood there but I wouldn't recommend it for vegetarians. The dish I had was terrible. Make sure you take plenty of basic food with you. If you are a nervous driver I would say be very sure before you book because the roads to the house are not for the faint hearted. The owners were really helpful too."

"Fabulous location and fabulous views from all windows. Great to while away the time just sitting watching the effects of the changes in weather. We loved the remoteness of this cottage, which was very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, for me, my partner, 80year old mom and dog Jack. Enclosed garden to allow Jack to wander freely without us worrying. Lovely walks from the cottage ( not for mom ) and nearby. Nearest shop / cafe approximately 6 miles away stocked with basics, very friendly and welcoming. Due to time of year, not a lot open around, but this didn't worry us as was expected. Deer in the wildlife centre in Torridon was a treat, along with lots of wild sightings. Sea eagle and seals seen on travels around.A welcome basket of goodies on arrival was a lovely surprise and very unexpected. We look forward to returning."

"We were 3 older ladies revisiting walking and climbing places of our youth. Location was quite stunning, particularly as we had a week of - yes- heat and total sunshine. Sunsets over the mountains were exquisite! The house seemed roomier than expected from the description, and was very well equipped and all facilities were excellent. We stocked up in the Inverness Tescos before arriving, and bought fresh fish etc in Sheildaig and Gairloch. We would have appreciated a garden table and some chairs, as we weren't off all day climbing. The house owner did provide some chairs on request. Getting up the drive and opening the heavy gates was a good exercise, and using passing places was fun once we got used to them! I would now like to make another visit, perhaps with family and grandchildren."

"The Cwtch whilst petite was immaculately presented and clean and had everything a couple could wish for. There was much attention to detail and the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They had provided all the essentials but also some delicious local and home grown produce including eggs from their own hens, bread, honey from their own bees and tablet, biscuits, etc. Also a bunch of flowers that lasted all week and a lovely card. All this made us feel special and welcome. Aultbea was also an excellent base for a holiday with lots of beaches, sight-seeing sights and good for walking, cycling, golf & fishing. The Aultbea Hotel which provided meals was only a 5 min walk from the house. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation and destination."
