"Pine wood is fantastic as a large holiday home so spacious. Plenty room for people to relax in what ever room they are in The lounges are both large and spacious helpful having a downstairs bedroom for those who may not manage the stairs and also a separate downstairs shower room and separate toilet Both the fires were on when we arrived and made the rooms look really comfy and warm the chairs in both lounges were all very comfortable the whole house is easy to access people found the house really to get round and loved the large kitchen where we gathered in the morning the bedrooms were all very comfortable loved the wee touches chandeliers were beautiful and the dining room was gorgous fitting 14 around the table comfortably out side was a wonderful space we had 2children with us who loved exploring and also 2dogs the gardens were all enclosed which was great and the large laundry area was very helpful I would come back to pinewood house in a minute wonderful memories thank you amazing I so didn't want to leave this is the best property I have ever been in"

"Very clean and comfortable apartment with a very well stocked kitchen. The furniture was comfy and well laid out and the kitchen had more crockery and utensils than larger places we've stayed at, including a full sized fridge freezer and easy to use oven. The location is perfect for dogs, a minute from the beautiful beach and promenade and the apartment has a lovely enclosed courtyard. There's not much in Spittal itself but there is a great little shop, a couple of pubs and cafe and amusements on the promenade. It's the perfect base for exploring the Northumberland coast and Scottish Borders. Berwick is about a 20/30 minute walk depending on speed. Jean is a fantastic host and left a lovely welcome basket of biscuits, honey, jam, wine and milk. We had an amazing 2 weeks and will definitely return. I would highly recommend Aidens and couldn't fault anything."

"Very helpful staff, and great cottages in a lovely quiet location. The downsides of a country location were that it took a little longer to travel the country roads to other Northumbrian attractions around the coast. Of the cottage itself - a few spiders had taken up residence in two of the shower units despite the otherwise immaculate facilities. Although the adverts describe the swimming pool and games room, the hours of use were a little restrictive in that they were not available after 7pm. We understood the Health and Safety restrictions on using the pool, but it would have been nice to be able to use the games room and/or snooker table in the evening. We would most definitely use the cottages from this owner again - but might chose to stay at their other site at Seahouses"

"We loved our stay at Casa Nostro, the cottage really does have everything.... books, dvd's, board games, children's indoors and outdoors toys and a fully equipped kitchen. There were no issues during our stay. If I had to say anything about the property I would just say the room with the bunk beds is through the living room, kitchen and dining room away from the other bedrooms and has some damp. Also the kitchen although has everything only has one cuboard for you to put your own things. There is so much there you have to leave your food on the side which isn't ideal. There are more glasses than a pub!Overall we enjoyed a fantastic family holiday. With a supermarket and lovely pub within walking distance and all the fabulous attractions of Northumberland within easy reach via car."

"Akeld manor is a lovely house which is in dire need of bringing up to date to accommodate large parties of visitors . There is only one shower ( but many baths )which is not adequate for a family of 15 . You are met with many rules and regulations on arrival that are off-putting and also a hefty surcharge which seems unnecessary . A welcome pack with local produce would have been a nice touch. Some of the rooms are neglected and very bare and the house itself does not have a homely feel . There is no wifi which in this day and age is fast becoming a necessity . The staff are very friendly and the grounds are amazing , the location of the house is very good for exploring Northumberland with most attractions around half an hour away . The pool and gym are an excellent addition ."
