"Good wee cottage that is a little bit bigger than it looks in photos. We thought it might feel a bit 'hemmed in' at the rear but the patio area was very nice with good quality picnic table/bench. We expected very poor weather but had a few nice days. Although the kitchen is small it was fine for cooking and eating in, especially as there were only two of us. Slight issue with the fridge storage but it worked OK and we managed fine. I understand from the owner a previous guest broke the door shelf in the fridge and the fridge will have to be replaced. As the owner points out, the stairs are definitely not for anyone with mobility problems and I would be concerned about younger children as I saw no stair gate. On a personal level, I would have liked a small wardrobe to hang clothes in and a chest of drawers in the main bedroom rather than under bed drawers. I think if I was the owner I would use the under bed drawers for linen storage rather than the wooden chests (nice though they are), and I would have at least one chest of drawers for guests in the main bedroom. As there were only the two of us we used the drawers in the bunk room and hung shirts on the bunk beds. On our return home I contacted the owner with some info re a building matter and received a very pleasant reply thanking me for the effort. We are familiar with the area and can recommend the location for visiting the East Neuk, St Andrews and also Dundee (about an hours' drive away). My husband and I enjoyed our stay at S23301 and we would recommend it to friends and family we felt it would suit. Hopefully we will be able to return again in the future."

"We stayed at the property as we attended a family wedding nearby. We stay in cottages throughout the UK but have never had an inventory in the 'welcome pack' with the prices for damage to cups or glasses etc. Welcome to S70349.The bathroom has black mould along the bottom of the bath screen. The bathroom window has black mould growing on it. The chrome safety rail and the inner curtain rail are rusty and dirty. The shower head has black mould growing on it. The front and back doors, locks and door handles are decrepit. The bedroom window was stuck and barely openable. The lounge carpet is marked and stained, due for replacement. The back door forms the only window to the lounge but the glass was dirty, in the low sun the lower panes are seen to covered in marks from what looks like a dog's slobbery nose. The bed linen, pillows and bathroom towels were clean but worn out, and should be discarded and replaced. The kitchen is infested with ants. There was a kindly placed teapot teabags biscuits etc upon arrival. The car park space was disputed by the neighbour within 5 minutes of our arrival. This can't be attributed to S70349, but overall detracted from my relaxation and enjoyment. We are realistic but my sister stayed nearby in another holiday cottage at similar cost, where it was clear the property was properly refreshed and delightful. We took the proposition at S70349 to be tired and dingy in the extreme."

"It has been done up quite nicely inside. Close to sea but too close to the pub directly opposite across the narrow street and although not overly loud we were aware of patrons standing outside talking late at night. Parking is limited and you take a chance on finding a space. It does in fairness mention the steps. For access these are awkward and internally include a steep staircase, narrow carpeted treads, to be honest we felt they were dangerous, not suitable for anyone a little unsteady. Unfortunately we just couldn't get comfortable. We were hoping to be able to relax and overlook the Sea, it does look out to sea but be aware that the windows are typical narrow cottage ones which are maybe 'cute' but we found that you couldn't really sit and gaze out of them to the sea which was a pity. You can of course sit on the patio but for comfort take some comfy recliners. A gate from the garden leads to a rocky coastline with rock pools and pebbles, ok for some limited exploring but not good for walking. There is birdlife around and we did see some passing dolphins, the fishing boats are also out and about picking up their pots. I'm sure for some people it would be fine and the guest book had a lot of positive feedback, just didn't do it for us unfortunately and we packed up a couple of days early"

"A nice 2 bedroom cottage with car parking at the door that we would gladly visit again. The location is good. On the main road through Upper Largo with easy access. The cottage is clean with a bathroom/Shower and a shower room.In terms of equipment, a well stocked kitchen with a wee back patio big enough to sit in and have a BBQ.We were left a wee box of treats for us and our dogs (Thank you Sue who showed us the ropes). There is abundant information about the house and local attractions etc.The Upper Largo hotel 100 mtrs along the road has a good pub with a decent menu. The walk down to Lower Largo and the beach is a 15 minute walk down the hill. There is a country path that can be accessed down the bottom of the hill down from the Upper Largo Hotel. The walk is safe for dogs and exits in the centre of Lower Largo. There are a couple of good pubs down at the beach. We became regulars of the Crusoe. The whole area is dog friendlyThe matress is a little soft for me (This is a personal preference) and a lighter summer Duvet would be appreciated (I know this is an extrordinarily hot summer)I would certainly recomend the area and the cottageWe will visit again"

"The cottage was lovely but not what id imagined, it wasn't a cottage more of an apartment but had lots of character non the less. The parking was difficult as the street is so narrow and sometimes you have to reverse back down the length of the street, but we were able to park down by the harbour and walk up no problem. There is a co op in Anstruther that only took a few mins to drive to get to and it was easy to use the cooker etc. Bed in the main bedroom really comfy and the shower was good. Always a plus as it was very hot and sunny when we visited. Mobile phone signal non existent but there is a house phone, just wasn't sure if we were allowed to use it. The biscuits and jam left on the table for us were really nice but we forgot to take teabags so if you like a cup of tea when you get there remember to take some, or coffee."
