"The cottage is in a great location, ideal for the coasatal path and close to Anstruther and St Andrews. On first inspection, everything looked good. A nice big kitchen with separate dining area and also a dining room. The lounge was a good size and the furniture comfy. The bedrooms looked fresh and clean as did the batheroom and shower room. Some areas looked fairly recently done. The garden is a great size and we were lucky with the weather so were able to take full advantage of the outside seating. However, the following points need to be made:Very dirty windows, inside and out (I know there was a bad srorm but they should have been cleaned as it did not look good for clients),cupboard door broken in upstairs bedroom, elecrtic shower in twin bedded room very innadequate, shower hose in bathroom very dirty, skirt left in wardrobe in front bedroom, springs coming through single bed downstaird, single bed against the radiator dangerous, especially if children are in there, widow sills and picture frames dusty, a large quantity of beer bottles left at the bins, two drawers stuck open in kitchen dining area a hazard. However, the location is so great that we would stay agin even though thar single bed(downstairs) was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Time to renew the mattress?"

"The setting is one of my favourite areas of Scotland. The premises are set right against a bonnie harbour, and the sea pays a regular visit to the walls at each high tide. The interior has retained its original character, but all the essential facilities are available. If you want 5 star "have a nice day" facilities, try Sir Richard Branson's Island. This is Scotland. The 28 steps between the 3rd floor and the kitchen does require some careful strategic planning to avoid the need to be inconvenienced. For an elderly person, depending on their level of motility, thought does have to be given to the stepped separation between the three floors. The challenges are not insoluble. The locals are really helpful, and there are plenty great eateries around the area--particularly if you want good Scottish food cooked well, and served with traditional Scottish courtesy and sincerity. St Andrews and other very interesting and attractive sites are within easy striking distance."

"Overall, we were pleased with the accommodation, except for the following 2 items.1. Television. We could not get the television to work and had to wait until the agent came and showed us how it worked. Also, The size of the television was so small that it was difficult to watch anything. In fact the owner telephoned us and suggested that we buy a new one and he would reimburse us. We did not take him up on this suggestion. 2. The double top bedroom's central heating would not work, as a result of which the room was uncomfortably cold. Again, the owner told us that he had arranged for the local gas board to come and fix the problem on Tuesday, 23rd June. Needless to say, no-one came to fix it, so we were forced to buy an electrical heater in order to warm the bedroom up.Although relatively small matters we got the impression that no-one really cared about them and weren't prepared to fix them."

"We stayed in Kannier Cottage for a week in August. Our group consisted of 5 yo twins, my husband and I, our dog and my Dad. The layout of the house suited us perfectly house with everyone having their own room, Dad having an en suite and the huge, enclosed garden being spot on for the dog and children. The seaview from the first floor lounge is stunning and the decor throughout is fresh and simple. Kitchen was fantastically stocked and there was a breakfast table and separate dining room!It was spacious, clean, well-equipped and superbly located literally 5 mins walk to the shingley beach. We had the most fantastic stay here - we didn’t want to come home!I loved Kannier and St Monans and can’t wait to return."

"We had a lovely short break at Isla May, the owners seemed to have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. All the furniture, equipment and fittings were of a good quality. The flat is a very short walk from the beach and a short walk from one of the local pubs, The Railway Inn, which deserves a special mention for being both dog and human friendly. Our only issue is the stairs up to the property and also within the property up to the living area. It was a little inconvenient but would not put us off coming back. The owner contacted us prior to our stay to give us directions and provide the access details, they also left a bottle of wine which was a kind gesture."
