"The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival and a real pleasure to stay in throughout our holiday - lovely to return to after a long tramp across the moors! Attractively furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean, with lots of info re activities/facilities in the area. It's situated in a very pretty, quiet, village (sheep wandering through) and a variety of fantastic moorland walks from the doorstep - no need to get into the car! There's a really nice pub with good food and atmosphere in the village and a very interesting old church just around the corner, well worth a visit. For food shopping, enjoyed trips to vibrant little towns of Kirbymoorside and Pickering. Would definitely recommend S45512, and hope to return...."

"Super location for getting around the area. View to the front of the property is wonderful. The property was clean and had everything we needed, although some extra touches would make it even better e.g. Clearing the weeds and old roof tiles from the back of the property so the view from the back matched the front and providing things like bin liners etc. Overall it is a super place to stay and I would recommend it, we had a lovely holiday. Our 5 year old son loved sitting on the step in the barn watching the horses outside, telling them each day on his return what he'd done. For people with children, who like a quieter place to stay that is in easy reach of beaches ( sandsend our favourite) it is ideal. "

"The owner couldn't be contacted. There is no signal from the village for a phone and she didn't provide an email where she could be contacted onsite. you had to travel 5 miles to get phone contact. We couldn't get the key as the key safe was stuck. so we were stranded. no access to the cottage and no one less than 6 miles drive away. In an emergency this was useless. we were just abandoned.I don't do this to people who stay in our holiday property. There is someone available to them from the moment they get off the plane, to the time they leave. we don't abandon anyone like this. the owner probably doesn't use things or has stayed in the cottage themselves for any length of time."

"under equipped kitchen ie no washing or drying facilities, not even an ironing board and iron, would be ok for a couple of days but not a full week ,there are no laundry facilities in the village so worth noting, i found the sofa uncomfortable and worn out, there is a car park space but no outside space to enjoy not even a patio area so not ideal for summer vacation, no welcome pack or toiletries on arrival and noted half a toilet roll left from previous user, please note if staying midweek there is no taxi service available ..only weekends ie thursday to saturday so if you want to travel to outskirts be prepared to drive."

"Cottage very small with no natural light in the kitchen, unless you had theback door open and kept kitchen door closed ,which had a glass panel init, though then you felt you were going outside to the downstairs bathroom. Thestairs were extremely steep and narrow, about which one was not aware of untilthe booking details came through, anyone with impaired mobility would havefound them very challenging.Very noisy on main road but the cottage was comfortably furnished and bedroomsmore than adequate. Glad we were 2 small women and our larger husbands werenot with us, would have been very squashed with them."
