"This is a rural hideaway cottage, which reflects the eco-friendly aspirations of the owner, and has French windows opening onto a large area of private woodland, awash with bluebells (May) and birdlife. We were given a warm and friendly welcome and told that, if we needed anything, we just needed to knock at the door. There are no shops or pubs in the immediate vicinity, but there is a farm shop 10 minutes' drive away and an excellent pub in the picturesque (and much filmed) village of Chilham also about 10 minutes' drive away - we did walk to Chilham through lovely country lanes, but you need to set aside a couple of hours for that. It was a great base from which to explore Kent (there were plenty of relevant maps, books and brochures in the cottage) - our favourite places being Canterbury and its lovely cathedral, Whitstable and Faversham, plus the National Trust properties at Chartwell, Sissinghurst Castle and the White Cliffs of Dover. If you enjoy country lanes, landscape and nature, then this makes for a very convenient and homely base with adequate kitchen and bathroom facilities - and a very comfortable bed!"

"We have just returned from a week at S13575. What a lovely place to stay, picturesque surroundings and the perfect location to venture the Kent countryside and coast. It's perfectly located for all the beaches from Whitstable to Ramsgate and the many wonderful bays between, we also had a day in Canterbury, visited Howlett's Wildlife Park and other local attractions. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you need, including a lovely Smart TV which was handy with two young children in tow - sometimes a bit of quiet time is needed.I would say the only downside is one bathroom. Our family consisted of my 2 children, (5/3) my wife, my parents and the dog, so the mornings were busy and a spare shower wouldn't of gone a miss. There are two locals pubs, a small shop, and a wonderful butchers in Preston. Minster Service has a large Coop where we went for fresh bread and supplies, it's 10-15 minutes away but we generally passed this on our way to and from our daily activities. All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing week and would highly recommend this lovely cottage."

"The cottage is in a perfect position, close to the beach and the high street, yet far enough back to be quiet. The cottage is beautifully decorated, yet I fear there is a degree of style over substance. The red sofa in the dining room is very uncomfortable and hence we never sat on it after the first go. The chairs in the living room are equally not the most comfortable. The lack of a dishwasher is a real shame, especially if you come with children (which the cottage is otherwise well set up for). I know space is tight but as someone who stays in many cottages this is a real down side. The drainage needs sorting. The fact that the green waste floods the path and then street is embarrassing and unpleasant to walk in."

"This review may seem at first sight to be odd. The cottage itself was one of the best we have stayed in in many years. It was clean, very well equipped, and well provisioned with the basics milk, tea , coffee. The problem for us was the parking. It is up a narrow lane with the allocated spot next to a fence. Driving in was OK but turning to come out forwards impossible unless one of the neighbouring drives was vacant to reverse into to come out forwards. Reversing all the way out did not appeal because you are unsighted when getting to the narrow public road.I finished up asking the owner of the pub next door if we could park overnight in his car park directly opposite."

"Nice comfy and cosy cottage set within the centre of Fordwich - less than 10mins drive from Canterbury The cottage has everything you will need - full stocked kitchen and delightful postcard and well maintained gardenHas WiFi and freebiew TV - a nice quiet town right next to the River Stour Fantastic local pub - the George and Dragon does a great range of decent food and drinksA number of supermarkets within a few minutes driveParking can be a pain as DYL outside - but always managed to park legally either more or less outside or within a 2-3 minute strollVery accommodating owner and and beautiful old cottage - remember to duck at doorways if tall like me lol"
