"The barn itself is very nice. The communal area upstairs with kitchen, dining area and sitting area is a great space for the family to cook, eat, play and relax together. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness. One of the windowsills in the main living area was full of dead flies, cobwebs and even an old sweet! That being said, I must just say that the bed linen and towels provided were clean and smelled beautifully fresh. The shower in the main bathroom reminded us of the old school showers from our youth (That was quite a long time ago!) although it was perfectly functional. Another slight disappointment was the garden. It isn't attached to the property itself. You have to walk a short distance down a shared driveway to get to it so we couldn't just let the dog wander in and out. It was also advertised as fully enclosed, but there is a large gap at the end of the garden which meant we had to keep the dog on a lead the whole time. There is a small courtyard within the property which also has the potential to be very nice, but weeds have been left to grow and discarded cigarette butts from previous occupants left on the floor. We did enjoy our stay but feel that some time and money needs to be spent refreshing the place as it does look a little rough around the edges."

"The cottage itself is quite nice but in need of a bit of TLC. The downstairs bathroom door was slightly warped and in need of planing, there was a water stain on the carpet in the downstairs bedroom and the shared outdoor gas bbq was filthy when we arrived. It was a hot weekend when we were there but there were no fans in the property and when you opened the door/windows the property was inundated with flies - a simple fly screen at the door would have helped. The upstairs bathroom smelt damp throughout our stay, despite opening windows to let some air in.Also, shared outdoor space is fine if your neighbours are friendly - ours were not. Their children prevented ours from playing on toys provided by the property, they hogged the pool and caused a confrontation over the booking system which they claimed not to understand. Perhaps if this had been managed by the owner rather than visitors it could have been prevented. It's a nice property, with plenty of space for youngsters to let off steam but it could be an outstanding property in time. The owner is lovely however, and incredibly helpful with her local knowledge."

"We stayed for 28 days 12/12/17-8/1/18 with our 2 dogs. Definitely the best, most relaxed Christmas and New Year ever. The cottage has absolutely everything you could need, a very well equipped kitchen (including everything required to cook a full Christmas dinner), comfortable seating, always lovely and warm. There is a useful entrance hall for coats/boots and wet dogs which we found really useful. The owner, Alan was on hand if anything was needed and always pleased to help. The cottage was decorated for Christmas with a pretty tree and Alan supplied us with wine and mince pies which was a nice touch. Very handy fenced off walk amongst the Hazelnut trees on the farm for our dogs and plenty of lovely walks around the village and beyond. Such a wonderful find in a pretty village with a great pub only a few hundred yards away. Will definitely recommend to our friends."

"This was the worst cottage we have ever stayed in.The lounge REEKED of stale dog,We had to buy an air freshner and open windows just to go in the room. The tv was very small. The conservatory had 6 foot high weeds almost touching the glass blocking views and restricting light. The lounge window was similary affected. The mattress on the bed lacked support. The shower attatchment over the bath had no power at all and only gave a drizzle of water. We therefore used a jug from the kitchen to wash our hair,The hot water stopped working on the Friday morning..The garden had a small lawn but the rest of the "tiered garden "was so overgrown with weeds that were up to 6ft high it was unusable. The gate to enter the cottage grounds was laying in the hedge. The cottage is located on a sharp bend and we could not believe how busy and noisy the road was at times."

"Overall we enjoyed our stay at Northbarn and will certainly go back. It was ideal accommodation for a large family get-together and perfect for our two dogs Max and Ollie. The enclosed garden enabled us to enjoy a BBQ without worry that the dogs would wander. It was peaceful and in a quiet country location. TV and WiFi was a bit hit and miss and there were no amenities within walking distance as Northbarn is in a rural location. However we enjoyed our trips in the surrounding countryside and to coastal villages of Blakeney and Wells-on-Sea. The property was comfortable and cosy but would benefit from some minor maintenance such as tightening loose tap in ensuite bathroom and some fixtures did not have a lightbulb. We would not hestitate to return to the property and would definitely recommend it to friends."
