"Perfect if you enjoy peace & quiet, fantastic Seaview/waves lulling you, or indeed for active dog-walkers. It is a very elegant attractive cottage, with the entire wall facing the sea having originally been a massive Victorian shop front - it is all glass. Thankfully, you can open all the windows. We took our small cockapoo in early April. He was a bit miffed when we sometimes preferred to sit upstairs for the fantastic view (dogs not allowed upstairs in the bedroom) so sometimes we took it in turn. Downstairs is lovely anyway. All very clean. The owner and the lady who lives next door and looks after the place are both really nice. As we used the dishwasher it would have perhaps been handy to have a few more plates and mugs to fill the dishwasher before turning it on. TVs both downstairs and upstairs. Good broadband wifi. We only had two full days . We loved walking along the beach promenade away from Ramsgate (the cottage is right on the edge of Ramsgate) and then up the massive stone steps to the country park, tea & cakes at the King George VI Memorial Conservatory (seats mainly outside in the little garden, so only open in good weather). There is also a cafe kiosk with outside seats near the park entrance. Walking beyond the park is very pleasant at the top of the cliffs. Then there is another small beach with toilets. Another day we drove to Joss Bay (large carpark - in early April we were able to avoid paying by parking in a small road with free parking bays) and then walked at top of cliffs towards Botany Bay, stopping midway for a good lunch at a clifftop pub. Dogs only allowed outside at this pub. But if we'd pressed on to the attractive hotel at Botany Bay itself we could have eaten in a special room for dog-walkers. Botany Bay is very picturesque and many photos taken. We had a good supper on the way back - though this time it was a little chilly sitting outside in the early evening. Back at the cottage we found the outside hose-pipe useful for the dog.Would recommend."

"Short brake with the in-laws. We stayed at the High Seas House for a long weekend in June. It was a lovely experience. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you need, and if you do not feel like cooking, there are plenty of options close by. The beds were comfy and the whole house was spotless clean. The owner has put a lot of thought in a very handy folder with information on the house, equipment (e.g. dishwasher , etc.) and plenty of brochures containing information about the town and things to do around the area and the whole of Kent. The layout is great too, I loved the kitchen being on the low ground floor as it was cool and one could go and start on breakfast without waking up the house as 3 levels (dining, entry/living and bathroom) are between the kitchen and the first bedroom.Waitrose is only a 5 minute walk from the house, and the harbour and High Street about 10 minutes. But it was quite at night, which was super important to us. So super happy with the location. Parking space was available right next to the house which was favorable due to the one way streets and limited parking in the area. A little welcome basket with coffee pods and Co was provided, which was a nice surprise :-)One thing to note is that there is no AC, but small fans are provided in the bedrooms. When we stayed, we felt always comfortable in the house, but we did not stay during a super hot day. The stairs are steep and so maybe not best suited for people with issues walking up/down stairs in general. To mention here also is that there is a lovely private terrace / courtyard on the dining room level and that level and the kitchen were always cool.We also had our dogs with us and they settled in just fine. I would recommend this property and we will surely stay here again."

"We couldn't have been happier. My family (2 adults and 4 children) stayed in the High Seas House for 2 nights and 3 days, there was plenty of room and there was incredible attention to detail to make every aspect of our stay as comfortable and pleasant as it could've been. The living room had ample seating space for everyone and was fully equipped with a nice TV!The kitchen had everything you need to self cater including an induction hob, pots and pans, cutlery etc... Bonus points for the Newgate clock!!Although there is a dining area, we enjoyed eating outside in the courtyard, which is rather private and has outdoor heating! The host is very helpful and responsive, literally answering our questions within minutes. The house has on-site parking which was a deal clincher for us.It's located super close to the beach and has a convenience store at the end of the street. We look forward to returning next year. Couldn't be happier with our stay!"

"We had a fantastic week at Bay View. The location was perfect as the house is right next to the beach and sea and the Neptune pub is about 10 metres away. My 82 year old parents loved sitting out on the balcony looking out over the sea, there is also a lovely little garden with table and chairs that we sat out in for meals and morning coffees. The house is on 3 floors with a family bathroom with bath on the first floor and shower room on the 2nd. The lounge is very comfortable and has double doors which when opened give lovely views over the beach and sea. We watched sunsets each night from the lounge and balcony. The kitchen is well equipped. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the local Sainsbury’s and High Street. I would recommend this holiday cottage and hope to return."

"The cottage is in a perfect position, close to the beach and the high street, yet far enough back to be quiet. The cottage is beautifully decorated, yet I fear there is a degree of style over substance. The red sofa in the dining room is very uncomfortable and hence we never sat on it after the first go. The chairs in the living room are equally not the most comfortable. The lack of a dishwasher is a real shame, especially if you come with children (which the cottage is otherwise well set up for). I know space is tight but as someone who stays in many cottages this is a real down side. The drainage needs sorting. The fact that the green waste floods the path and then street is embarrassing and unpleasant to walk in."
