There has been a market in this town since the 13th century and if you’re there on a Wednesday don’t miss the weekly stalls where you can find all manner of goodies. In the spring and summer, you can visit the intriguing independent museum which is run by the Local History Society. Obviously, with the Cotswolds at your feet, there is plenty of countryside to explore and various walks to enjoy. Don’t miss the excellent fish and chips either.

"Nice cosy cottage in a lovely location. Close to Oxford, Bicester Village for shopping and the scenic surrounding area of the Cotswolds. Bourton On The Water is a must. Cottage is well equipped with all the required necessities. Big King sized bed, cozy log burner and a great shower. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Nothing much to complain about although we didn't find the sofa in the lounge particularly comfortable and you should note that there is no other heating downstairs bar the log burner and if you require more logs you will be charged for them, albeit only a minimal amount. Personally I thought that was odd considering you have paid for a stay in a cottage and heating should be part of that contract. As I said you need the additional logs as there is no other method of heating downstairs. Minor quibbles but it does detract my overall score a little."

"Everything about the holiday was superb the cottage exceeded our expectations. Sue and Chris are excellent hosts the welcome pack was lovely including a sample of the local beer which my husband would thoroughly recommend. The property is ideally situated for touring the Cotswolds providing a welcome haven at the end of a hectic day of sightseeing/walking. There are several local pubs three within walking distance but as the weather was glorious we enjoyed sitting on the patio enjoying the time at the wisteria clad picture postcard cottage. The property is beautifully appointed with all fixtures and fittings of an excellent standard. We are looking forward to returning."

"Just returned from a lovely week at Long Meadow cottage. It isn’t very often we feel this way, but we honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Personal highlights for us included the underfloor heating (walking on a warm stone floor with bare feet is a dream!), the log burner & the huuuge bed! Charlbury is a pretty little village with some wonderful pubs, all within a few minutes walk of your cottage. The Bull was our personal favourite with its roaring fire, great food & delicious red wine (try the Sicilian red).We will definitely return in the future. Thank you for such a fab stay!"

"Hook Norton and S70210 were lovely. The cottage was well equipped and had comfortable seating in living room and even better lovely comfy beds with great bathrooms to both bedrooms. The lemon cake as part of the welcome pack was fab. Hook Norton its self was great with a good local shop which was like a tardis and stocked lots, great pubs and the Brewery is well worth a tour. Walking in the area was good and had well signed routes. Great stay."

"Lovely cottage, set in a wonderful location. Ideal for visiting Oxford and towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Great for walks in the surrounding countryside with excellent pubs in the village of Charlbury. Sue and Chris were helpful and kind, the welcome pack was very generous. The offer of more wood for the fire was greatly received on one of the coldest weekends of the year. Definitely recommend and looking forward to returning to the cottage."
