"We stayed here as part of a group reunion we organise every year. The property is modern and well presented and immaculately clean. It's well kitted out in the kitchen and all bedrooms have an ensuite. Bedrooms are comfortable too and there is underfloor heating. Lots of hot water and good showers, plus a fantastic large bath on the upper floor. The views over the countryside are lovely, the open wild flower field at the back is great and there is a lovely large open garden space which would be excellent for kids to run around in. The cottage is very quiet, especially at night and it's easy to listen to the wonderful bird life around. We were disappointed at the welcome pack and folder. The pack was six ferrero rocher and a bottle of wine. Whilst that is always well received, including something such as a local cake or a packet of biscuits is much more useful and welcome, so that you can enjoy those with your first cuppa on arrival. The folder had all the info you need for the property, however there was nothing about things to see or do in the local area except for a leaflet about the National Memorial Arboretum. Very few recommendations for places to eat out or shop either. There are no games or books at all at the property so it was good we had brought some with us. Having these is a nice touch and always well received.WiFi is slow, however the owners are awaiting BT to upgrade the connections as the rural area becomes better connected. It does work though, although we had problems streaming the football final from BT sport.Seating area in the lounge could be better. As the property sleeps six the seating should better reflect that. Replacing the current L shaped sofa with two three seaters would be a vast improvement as the current offering is not comfortable to sit or lounge on for any period of time when six of you are there."

"Owners were very friendly and the cottage was comfortable. Beds were fine. Showers were ok but could do with a lot more power. Fridge very small for a 3 bedroom property and we found that it was either not cold enough or frozen at the back. Equipment provided in the kitchen was more basic than we had experienced in previous holiday cottages. Absolutely no kitchen supplies such as vinegar, ketchup etc left from previous guests. This is the first property we have stayed at where the cupboards were bare. Non stick coating on the pots and pans were badly damaged and needed replacing. We bought our own utensils and pots and pans on the first day. We left those at the property. As the property is listed as luxury we had high expectations. Location is ok, lots of towns and national trust properties within a short drive. Description of the cottage states that there are fantastic walks form the property but we didn't really find this to be the case and very little information provided in the welcome pack. It is possible to search on google but more personal information on the local area from the owners would have been appreciated. Bike racks would have been nice to have.Very little in walking distance but we didn't mind as we went out every day. Tiny convenience store, post office and a local pub. We didn't try the pub as the reviews on tripadvisor were so bad.Great cycle trails at Cannock Chase and lots of national trust properties to visit with dog friendly walks. Towns nearby all worth a visit. We enjoyed our visit and found lots to do."

"This was our 3rd visit to this lovely old farmhouse, which we have previously enjoyed staying at with our family. However on this occasion we felt that nothing had been improved upon since our last stay 5 years previous, with regards to repair and updating the property. We have felt very much at home here but now feel that things could have been better. The broken chair in kitchen, broken window taped up in bedroom, pool cues in games room broken, pool balls missing, table tennis bats in bad condition, dishwasher not working properly, grubby furniture in lounge & large bedroom, DVD on blink and no locks on bathrooms just a few things to mention, all of which were in need or repair/replacement on our last visit. Uncomfortable sofa bed in downstairs bedroom, & both showers needed attention. Also we reported mice at the property which were seen on a regular daily basis, which is unacceptable. Would also suggest highlighting the steps in the property as these are dangerous for elderly & also young children. We felt this was such a shame as we have loved staying here on previous occasions and we held it in regard as a special place for our family visits. With TLC & refurbishment this property could be a wonderful retreat for family holidays, but feel that now the time has come for some very much updating and improvement."

"We stayed at this location in 2011 and it is still as nice but with little change. The downstairs facilities were used by my elderly mother who has limited mobility. She was very pleased and it would be suitable for other guests who are restricted. The house is really spacious, clean and the welcome basket was appreciated. We understand the owner is waiting for a suitable opportunity to decorate as the paintwork needs a little care. Our only disappointment was the games room. We used a screwdriver to tighten the screws on the cushions of the pool table as they were loose. The football table is unplayable as the footballers are held on with tape and one had half his body detached. Whilst I know new facilities are expensive and certainly not necessary a good solid glue and a little love and tender care could get then back to workable. The games room is a real treat. We had a great stay and despite the above which are easily resolved we would return again(3rd time) for a big family occasion."

"What an amazing week. We had a fabulous time at S15987. A lovely farm cottage on a working farm. (Despite the dreadful weather, rain or mist most days), we would all choose to stay there again. Great location. Well equipped and maintained. Huge cottage and garden. Beautiful walks on the farm. Terry the owner was very kind and welcoming, he showed us round the farm and we loved seeing how the lambs were growing daily (we stayed in April) 10 min drive to Alton Towers. We also did a day trip to Buxton and Poole Cavern which we all enjoyed. Happiest times were walking on the farm, and in the cottage or garden with our children and the extensive children's toys available within the cottage. The children have all asked if we can return and not visit Alton Towers but spend more time on the farm or in the local area which we were unable to get into much as it was so wet. Thanks so much Terry we hope to stay again."
