"We had a fabulous time at Garden Cottage and can thoroughly recommend it. Right from the start we felt at home due to the cottage's welcoming feel. We were impressed by how well fitted out the cottage was even down to crockery designed for small children. We cooked each night and did not find that any utensil or pot etc was missing. Everything we needed was to hand. The cottage was very easy to find from Totnes and had enough parking for two, or even three cars. The rural location was very welcomed and we could feel the effects of a four and half hour drive just melt away. The cottage is ideally suited for trips to Totnes (10 mins away with a huge Morrisons so easy to stock up), Dartmouth, Salcombe, Dartmoor and Torquay. Plymouth is only about 40/45 minutes away. The leisure facility is very good and although we didn't swim we looked over the pool and the water was nicely warm to the touch. We played pool and table tennis though! I can't think of anything remotely negative to say other than we were both fed up that we only had three nights in the cottage and wanted longer...next trip!"

"Great cottage (castle cottage 3 at Tuckenhay Mill) perfectly situated for the natural beauty and top sites in South Devon. Cottage is well equipped and comes with BBQ. Looked to have been recently refurbished as all very clean and fresh. Great views as situated up the hillside. Good facilities on site as there are two indoor pools and one outdoor. Three jacuzzis, sports and games room, gym and a small football pitch. Easy to find on the map. Only negative points really were the comfortableness of the beds as none of the mattresses were particularly comfortable and the old spring type. Also the issue of hiring towels. Feel for the cost of the cottage for a week the mattresses could be of better quality or have a foam topper added and the towels should be thrown in for the price. Otherwise a great trip and the staff members we came across on site were lovely and very helpful."

"My friends and i had the most fantastic stay at Garden Cottage. The cottage was warm , comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Directions to find it were spot on and the location is so picturesque. While you feel you are miles from anywhere, your not, local amenities are a short drive away and the overall surroundings are well worth a visit. Perfect location for peace and tranquil , but with fantastic places to explore, all within a easy driving distance. The added bonus to Garden Cottage is within the grounds, there are sports facilities , swimming pool (lovely and heated) squash courts, badminton courts, tennis courts, snooker/pool tables and table tennis, all equipment is provided. It is suitable for families, couples, girly weekends away, overall Garden Cottage is a hidden little gem and i would highly recommend a stay ."

"Rented the Mill House to celebrate our Golden Wedding with our children & grandchildren. The house was amazing, extremely well equipped and lived up to the advertising. We made full use of the pools and hot tub. The weather was glorious which added to the enjoyment of the holiday. Given the special occassion the cost (almost £4 grand ) was justifiable but we wouldn't afford that normally.I was horrified to find there was no recycling on the site - because 'it would be classed as commercial' - given the accommodation hire costs I would consider the site to be 'commercial' . A party of 10 generates a lot of plastic packaging + glass bottles - we made the effort to take those to the bottle bank at the pub down the road. I would have expected a site like Tuckenhay to be very supportive of protecting the environment."

"We were a family of 13 ( 2 in Mill Leat ) celebrating a joint birthday. What an amazing house this was. Everything you needed and more for just an occasion. Mill House was more than we could have imagined with very tasteful furnishings and balconies / patios to sit out on, in the sun, The surrounding cottages, setting, walks and views were spectacular. The facilities ie pools, hot tubs, game rooms and grounds were brilliant. Could not have asked for more. Everything was perfect.A 5 minute walk took us to the Maltsters Arms where we had a lovely coffee overlooking the river dart and a delicious Sunday lunch. This was an 11 out of 10 stay and will definitely be back.Thank you Debbie and Vivienne for making us feel welcome"
