"The cottage was very nice, but lacked a few basics. The lighting in the kitchen and living room was poor. Two of the bulbs above the sink did not work and one bulb was not working in the extractor fan above the hob. The cooking utensils did not include a wooden spoon/spatula, therefore had to use a metal spoon in the non stick saucepans. There was a lack of chopping boards, and no dish with cover to use in the microwave. Instructions how to use the oven would have been very helpful. The bath looked lovely but was not designed to use the shower attachment, which dripped over the side of the bath, not into it. (Would have preffered a shower rather than the bath). The fan in the bathroom did not work - needed due to no windows. The owners could possibly add a cabinet by the side of, or shelf above the sink as there was nowhere to place the handwash except on the shelf the other side of the bath. Toilet brush would be useful.Otherwise the cottage was lovely, and very clean, great location, but small things make a big difference when going away."

"Excellent week. Can recommend walks from the book on Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.  Lovely, easy cycle from Buxton - Bakewell, on Monsal Trail - see leaflets. Windmill pub and Vale Inn are both good. Lyme Park House are also good, but glad we went early - got very busy by the afternoon. The cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the area. The book of walks seemed accurate, with its timings for length of walks, also flat walks along ridge to Shining Tor. Cycled from Blackwell Mill through trees and tunnels, which was relaxing and scenic. Bakewell touristy but pretty. The games room at the cottage was a massive hit. The house was clean and tidy and the welcome hamper, including scones, was wonderful Thank you. "

"Thank you for a lovely week in Cheshire. This house is exceptional, the best property we have ever stayed in.Chester Zoo is excellent, Blue Planet also good (but maybe slightly overpriced). The Thatch is superb - great food and efficient friendly staff. Also Sergios Italian Restaurant near the Cathedral in Chester was lovely - as was Romazzino's in Nantwich. Cheshire Falconry was disappointing - very small, more to see in the Pet Shop next door! Thank you again. The Y's, Lincolnshire"

"The cottages were good and we really enjoyed our holiday. However, there were a few niggles. The wifi didn't work properly at all; the games room is very damp and was not a pleasant environment to play in for long; there was no large tea-pot in Damson; the large plates didn't fit in the dishwasher when they were stacked and the cupboard door didn't shut properly. As I say these were annoying but didn't spoil our holiday in a lovely part of Cheshire. A great location!"
