"We hired this property for the week of Christmas 2017. It’s 8 miles away from the nearest supermarket but the owners had provided a comprehensive supply of toiletries and cupboard essentials including some herbs, cooking oil, margarine, bread, milk, sparking wine and toilet roll. The bedrooms are spacious and lots of space to store clothes. There are two lounges, one roomy kitchen, a twin bedroom and a utility room (with washer and fridge freezer) downstairs, 1 bathroom with loo and separate shower, 1 loo and shower upstairs, along with the rest of the bedrooms. However, the upstairs was very cold, the windows were old and single glazed, and there was condensation on the inside of the windows every morning. One toilet broke on 23rd Dec, and although the owner came to look at it, he wasn’t a plumber and unable to fix it so we had a house-full and only one loo for 5 days until we left. The property is very rural, and down a very muddy drive through a farm, so please be aware that some vehicles might struggle down it. Also, the sat nav was wrong by 0.6 miles and we struggled to find it in the dark. That having said, the owners were pleasant, the property was nicely decorated with Christmas trees and lights, and we had an enjoyable week, and we would go again."

"Where do I start, I booked this house to meet up with my 4 uni friends, their partners and children. We had a fantastic time. As soon as you enter, the drive up to the house is very impressive and the pictures do not do it justice. The house was massive, plenty of space that you did not feel you were in each other’s way/space. Plenty of seating around the dining table so we could all eat together and plenty of seating in the lounge so the adults could have a drink together while the children were in bed. Kitchen was a great size and well equipped for big groups. The games room was outstanding and such a luxury to have - the men definitely had fun in there playing on the pool table, snooker table, table tennis table and darts board. Because we had children we drove to Markeaton Park on the Saturday which was only 20/25mins away. We found the location perfect, nice and quiet but only a little drive away from shops, pubs and parks. We loved this place that much that we are booking again for next year."

"Great stay at the cottage we spent a great week with family and friends. the house is very cute and very well designed. Very nice garden and the beds are great ! But .... There was no enough hot water for 2 showers so we had to wait 3 hours in between showers .... and nobody to deal with problem / no gate in the garden so we could not leave the dog out side / the great AGA stopped working during our stay so we could not cook / there is not enough bowls or containers to be able to cook or make cakes or appetizers .... / no dry wood for the fire so we had only wet logs in the garden / no check in was made so we did not know what was the wifi code we had to look for it but then the wifi worked very well / no information on where to put the trash... simple information that could be written on a welcome book or said with a nice check in in the house. Still we keep nice memories of our nice stay at the cottage."

"We stayed at S73967 for a 60th birthday weekend. Upon arrival S73967 was freezing and there was no logs to start a fire and it did state on our email there should be enough logs for our whole stay. The central heating also didn't work. We called the help number and someone came to try to work the heating. Still didnt work ans promised he would be back in the morning with logs as we have brought some by this point. No one turned up. We called again and again. Finally the manager turned up at 5pm with logs but still couldn't get the heating on. Thr heating finally. Came on during the night and turned off in the morning. There was also not adequate kitchen items. Lady bird and fly infestation in the master bedroom. Not very clean as loads of large cobwebs everywhere. Also Netflix didn't work as it said too many people was already using it."

"S72788 was difficult to keep warm. I realise we were visiting in a particularly cold February. However the heating went off too early in the evening and with young grandchildren did not come on early enough in the morning. We solved the problem by moving the fire from one lounge and using it in the lounge attached to the kitchen. Enjoyed the piano in this lounge. The kitchen was well stocked, good sized table and there was a lovely welcome hamper. However not enough towels. The outside area had plenty of chairs and tables if you were visiting in the summer. One side of the cottage is right in the farm yard so be prepared for tractors and plenty of animals! One bedroom is downstairs but there is no downstairs toilet. if going in cold weather take plenty of thermals!"
