What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Carisbrooke To Rent.

"We had a great holiday. We enjoyed walks from the cottage within the grounds, found a shady stream with a rope swing. Short drive to carisbrooke castle, colwell bay (sandy beach, great for going in the sea) and mottistone. We booked a Tesco delivery for our arrival and then did little shops at Lidl. There's a family sized fridge freezer so you can do a weeks shop. We went to a lifeboat launch at Bembridge, and cycled the red squirrel trail from shanklin. We ate at Pavarotti's in shanklin, highly recommend, and went to the chine in the evening. We also went to godshill model village. We had glorious weather which always helps, but there was lots to do, could have happily filled 2 weeks! The children loved being at calbourne mill, we went every morning before they open at 10 to feed the birds and have a pedalo. Youngest child loved the lego table. The lodge is very comfortable, bigger than I expected from the photos. It was lovely and clean and the beds comfortable. The big windows upstairs stopped it getting stuffy or too hot. We didn't get pestered by the birds at all, the children loved seeing them walk about. We ate all our meals on the veranda and didn't use the dining room at all but it was very spacious. Thank you for a lovely holiday."

"It's hard to say what the best thing about Bowden is: braving the wind to stand on the private beach at midnight on Christmas Eve; cooking Christmas dinner with red squirrels feeding outside the window; sitting in the conservatory watching the sky get dark across the beautiful grounds; running your hands over the banisters, lovingly restored with 24 coats of varnish; chatting to Peter the owner over coffee; piling into the living room with wine, cake and board games... The house is historic, majestic, magical and beautifully crafted, with space for a large extended family group to eat together and play together, or to spread out over several rooms for a variety of activities. A minor drawback is the disparity between the sweeping grandeur of the first floor and the servants quarters on the second floor: bedroom and bathroom arrangements need some negotiation to keep all group members happy! It was a privilege to be the first guests for Christmas 2017 and to feel that we honoured Peter's vision of bringing his beloved family home back to life for a new chapter in the house's history."

"The photo above is not of 268 Gurnard Pines - probably another property on the site. Gurnard Pines is described as a Holiday village but many of the properties on site are residential and some are needing some care and attention. We were advised that there was parking for 2 cars immediately outside the property. There was space for 2 cars but not solely for the use of the occupants so the space was not always available. Whilst the property was very clean and most things were in very good condition the only seating in the lounge area was 2 sofa beds - not always easy to get up from. There was only one small wardrobe in the main bedroom - nowhere to hang clothes in the other two bedrooms - which just had a chest of drawers. We were fortunate to have good weather which was good as there was nowhere in the property to hang coats etc."

"We had a wonderful break based at Fairfield Old School House. The location is fabulous being within a short walk to the older part of shanklin with its pictoresque gift shops and tea rooms and opposite to a nice park which our dog enjoyed exploring. The flat is roomy and comfortable with nice quality furniture giving it a home from home feel, and the accommodation is very well equipped indeed from rainy day games, Wii, sky/Netflix and lots of useful additions in the kitchen like cafetiere and thermos flask as well as all the normal things you would expect. We would recommend both Shanklin with its nice beach and seafront - including the interesting 'chine' and Fairfield house which we found to be excellent and a very relaxing place to stay."

"Fantastic venue for a big get together for a special occasion and/or holiday. Hardly a cottage!, a mansion with facilities to match. The photos on the website are brilliant, but cannot and do not do Bodwen justice. We arrived in wonderful weather, which helps of course, but it is a lovely house and grounds beautifully and lovingly maintained. Our party of eight adults and two small children, six and three, all loved it. Almost all of us were new to the Isle so we explored but you could easily just spend your time enjoying the splendid facilities on offer and the extensive gardens. The hosts are warm and generous and attentive. I have run out of superlatives!"
