"Impressive accommodation, tastefully furnished with a nice touch of luxury with all the fixtures and fittings. Arrival was trouble free and there was a welcome bottle of bubbly to make it a nice occasion. The jacuzzi was great fun, not something we'd normally do but the location and view was too tempting. The studio barn layout, island kitchen etc all made the visit feel special. The first evening was great but the following morning the on-site wood mill, JCB road excavator and petrol powered landscaping machinery started up, it was like they were building a by-pass outside the window. This continued for the next 2 days and frankly drowned out an otherwise picturesque location. It all stopped in the evening but it managed to taint our first break of the year and wound us up rather than down. Practically there was nowhere comfortable to sit outside, the table and chairs were rusty and uninviting but frankly with all the noise we were happy indoors. We all have outside maintenance to do but this was excessive, particularly for a countryside holiday location. Otherwise I can't fault it and with the road built, all the wood chopped and the landscapers given some quieter battery powered equipment we would visit again with a whole hearted five stars."

"The cottage has two good-sized bedrooms on the ground floor. Upstairs is a very fancy bathroom with a huge bath, a teeny kitchen and living area. Outside is a deck with table and chairs and a summerhouse with the recycling bags and washing machine. It was fine for two of us for a few days -- I can't imagine feeding a family of four there! We only had our breakfasts there and ate out for our other meals. The sofa had seen better days, but generally the rest of the furniture was fine. Bed was comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. We didn't know the area at all, so a bit more info on how to get into Cardiff (there is a park & ride by train from Pencoed, but we didn't find out until after we'd been), where the best local pub is, the nearest supermarket, etc, would be very helpful. The leaflets in the cottage were quite old -- presumably left by previous guests."

This property was perfect, felt like we were away from it all in the country. It was certainly close enough to enjoy Cardiff and the local sights had we been interested. We loved walking through PorthKerry Country Park</span>"

"<strong>This is a beautiful property with the most wonderful owners.</strong> Though we were unprepared for how rural it is and the tough driving for those of us used to the city, the country setting is nothing short of amazing. It's close to Cardiff but feels a world away. And they have the most wonderful dogs, whom our two boys played with every day. This is a gem in the Welsh countryside. Dunraven Bay (about 30 minute drive) is a must. It's in the town of Southerdown, and is possibly the most beautiful beach we've ever seen; Cardiff Castle; the local town of Cowbridge for shops and a great kids play area; St. Fagan's Museum of Welsh Life is a must; Cardiff Bay for a lovely day of eating and strolling (and check out the Dr. Who Experience if you're a fan). We had a truly terrific holiday!"
