Miss Joanna Chubb - verified booking
"Excellent service from start to finish. Carreg Cottage was an outstanding property, incredibly well thought through with everything that you could need supplied. Beautifully clean, light and airy with very comfy beds, well appointed accommodation and a lovely log burner for those chillier evenings. Perfectly placed for walking in the stunning Snowdonia mountain ranges with Moel Siabod on the doorstep for more challenging walks and plenty of easier walks directly from the door. The Plas-Y-Brenin outdoor centre just 5 minutes down the road offers great activities, a bar and restaurant and interesting talks from local guides as does the excellent Moel Siabod cafe which is just 5 minutes in the other direction. The cottage was excellent value for money - we would have no hesitation in returning in the future and would recommend both the property and Wales Cottage Holidays to friends and family as the whole holiday was well organised, painless and problem free."

"Put simply. It's heaven. We all loved it, 4 kids...all mid teenagers had no trouble finding stuff to do , my son trained every day for a fell race up the fells behind the house ( he won the race The week after our return home so it's good ground !) we took our dogs out onto the fells early every morning for a couple of hours and hardly met a soul, it's so peaceful and refreshing to feel isolated..yet not!The house had just about everything you could wish for and then some! There's no question it's the best place we have stayed and would love to go back .Only thing I missed was a washing line ! how many folk would say that ! Thank you for a wonderful holiday !"

"Sykes as a holiday company I cannot fault....you give very good company service and any staff I spoke to were very helpful and pleasant to talk to,unfortunately this particular cottage was not as clean as I would have expected...there was thick grease around cookerhood, the freezer compartment door of the fridge did not close due to build up of ice and there were cobwebs around the windows.I don’t wish to be negative but if your customers are not honest regarding a review then there is no point to them. We have been to North Wales before, and hope to visit again using Sykes Cottages again."

"It is a lovely cottage for a family with a handy utility room (which forms the back entrance) and plenty of space, a bright kitchen ad nice eating area as well as a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove. The area is quiet and there is no noise from the road nearby (we slept with windows closed, may be different in high summer if people want to leave windows open?). The area is beautiful, with walks starting minutes from the cottage and a very nice pub only 5 minutes walk away. There are many activities and points of interest a short drive away, enough to keep a family busy for days! "
