What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Cambridgeshire To Rent.
- Mr Conibear, August 2018 - verified booking
"This was a lovely welcoming bright cottage, well looked after, clean and extremely well equipped (for which a lot of thought had gone into). As an owner managed and maintained property, the quality was a lot better than some of the managed Sykes cottages of a similar grade which we have stayed in recently. There is a washing machine (which is not made clear in the Sykes details). As self caterers we would normally liked to see larger fridge and freezer facilities but we managed with the local shops and Newmarket being close by. The cottage was well placed for exploring Cambridge and West Suffolk area. Thanks for the warm welcome, fresh flowers and other gifts which awaited us The Sykes directions with the key collection details (which we only used from the B1063) may need revisiting as we found the Brook Stud sign on Left (not right as stated) and we were confused about the left fork mention. Mrs D met us with the key and gave us a brief tour pointing out the main features, which was very useful. Further guidance/instructions to get the best out of the high spec tv (which we are not used to) and details of local walks could be added to the 'welcome file'. . As we book several cottages each year through Sykes we would consider an annual insurance policy rather than a one off. See previous feedback on other cottages re current Sykes website and improvements which could be made."

"Every aspect of our stay at S86136 was enjoyable. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owner and the welcome pack of treats was very much appreciated. The cottage was cleverly designed, beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished (inside and out!) and extremely well equipped. The beds were so very comfortable and everyone of us slept extremely well. The owners were close by and on hand if we needed anything, but they were also respectful of our privacy too.The surrounding area was beautiful and the cottage was close by to many public footpaths some of which run to nearby villages and pass through beautiful fields and farmland. There are games, books and activities available at the cottage which meant that even if the weather wasn't great we could still relax and enjoy ourselves as a family. The cottage was perfectly located for visiting nearby towns and cities either by car or by train. The local towns of Huntingdon and Ely having mainline train stations. In summary, a stay at S86136 is a must. It is a perfect base for any type of holiday; whether it be taking long country walks, relaxing in the cottage grounds or having a day trip to a local town or city."

"Ideally situated for us to visit relatives in this Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border area but also close to other attractions such as Newmarket and Cambridge city.On arrival one of the co-owners, Mr D, gave us a warm and sincere greeting and a comprehensive guide to the cottage. We greatly appreciated the 'extras' left in the fridge for our use. We have used many self-catering rentals over the decades but cannot think of one as clean and as well equipped as S77575. The proprietors clearly care about their property and the comfort of their guests. The one car parking is spacious but may not be sutiable for the small minority with vehicles that sit close to the ground. We have a Honda Civic and on access and egress I always heard a slight chafing noise from the protective rubber skirts around the engine bay. The agents on-line pictures clearly show this is not a 'twee chocolate box' cottage but a fairly modern one at the beginning of a small estate of similar dwellings. The area is quiet and the locals polite and friendly. When we revisit relatives in the area S77575 will be our first choice of a place to stop."

"The only concern we had with this cottage was the distance from Cambridge, but it was worth the drive. 17 miles/25 min as the property is so lovely, comfortable and set in countryside with a view for miles. The owners cater for everything. Toys for the children, extras in the kitchen ie kitchen roll, bin bags etc. Beautifully decorated and very very comfortable and homely. Spotlessly clean. Had a wonderful long weekend over Easter with the family with sight seeing in both Ely and Cambridge and then back to relax in peace and quiet. Fantastic pub just down the road called 5 miles to Nowhere!!! on the banks of the river with delicious food. Local village a 10 min drive away had a takeaway perfect for after a long weekend and everyone wanted to just down tools and socialise without the effort. Although the kitchen was well equipped so we could have cooked. Cottage easily slept 6 adults and space for a cot. Met the owner and invited for easter egg hunt with the grandchildren and owner herself was very approachable and lovely Would highly recommend and would definetly return."
