"Unfortunately the owners are rather economical with the truth when they say that the property is 'on a road'. Not only is it a very fast road used as a short cut and with a speed limit of 60mph but the bedrooms are in effect around 12 ft from it. The road is also in bad repair and has quite a camber on it which means vehicles tend to use the centre more, with wheels going over the cats eyes thus making more noise. the traffic from 6am and late at night means that it is almost impossible to get any sleep. They also state that the railway line is half a mile away, it is much much closer. by car going round the road way it is only 3/10 of a mile away and it is directly across an open field so i would estimate that, as the crow flies, it is less than 500yards away. Not only this, it is the main 'Great Northern' line and has trains, bothe diesel and electric, going at high speed constantly. Then at night the line is used by goods trains, very noisy and very long.A few other niggles, The light in the double room takes a good five to ten minutes to be bright enough to see by, also a net curtain in that room would be desirable as it looks out directly on to the owners property windows. The decking is nice but needs a gate at the entrance and a closure at the other end otherwise it is completely insecure if you have children or, like us, a dog.I am unsure as to the reason for a wet room because the property is definitely not suitable for anyone with a disability, a shower cubicle would be far better. there was no wardrobe storage in the twin room. the built in fridge was the noisiest i have ever heard, we had to turn it down to stop it running constantly. Just after we arrived, the owner came in and introduced herself, she said she liked to "show guests around the cooker"! As it turned out the cooker was awful, the hob was ceramic and had touch controls which only worked occasionally, myself, my husband and our visiting son all tried and managed once in a dozen tries to make it work. The hob is also very badly chipped on one side meaning that if you are not careful you could sustain a nasty cut when wiping down the worktop.Sadly, the noise problem was the worst thing, it really spoiled the holiday and, due to lack of sleep, i ended up with a migraine, not very good when you are on holiday."

"We had a lovely weeks break in this Lodge. It is exceptionally clean and tidy and, as my husband is disabled, it had ample room for him to move about in without any worries. The bathroom was exactly what you would require for someone with restricted mobility. It is a bit tight getting the car in from the road, but nothing an experienced driver would have a problem with. The grass at the back was mowed the day after we arrived, which was a great help. Pack wellies though because of the wildlife using this area too and it's a little uneven under foot. The road and rail noise didn't trouble us particularly and the view at the back from the lounge/kitchen area is lovely. We saw Muntjac and Roe deer daily, the occasional rabbit and to see the cows mooching about in the field beyond is very calming and peaceful. There were about 12 cows in all, male, female and a couple of youngsters and it was lovely to see them just getting on with their routine.We had our dog with us, who I did keep on her extending lead in the back garden, purely because she is just a youngster and wants to explore everything. We found a lovely place for her morning walks at Great Fen, nearby, where she was off the lead and loved it. It takes just over an hour to do the complete circuit.Well worth a visit, whether you have dogs or children or neither, is Ferry Meadows country park near Peterborough. Only a short drive and parking starts at £1.50 for the first hour and half. Lovely walks there, it's a very calm and tranquil place with a great big lake and lovely cafe doing all sorts of goodies."

"S17010 is probably the most well equipped, beautiful and cosy rental property I have stayed in. My sons and I enjoyed our week's stay and it was well situated for us to visit family locally.The cottage itself is down a single track lane with views over the surrounding fields so feels like you're out in the country (the weather was surprisingly fabulous for an October half term so we enjoyed clear skies day and night). Civilisation is not far away however with Wisbech just a few minutes' drive away and a large a Tesco for any provisions you might need. There is also wifi at the cottage and although I couldn't get all channels on the TV, this just gave me a chance to catch up on some reading.We arrived late on the Friday night but the cottage was warm and cosy, as well as spotlessly clean. It was also surprisingly spacious. The beds were comfortable; the shower was hot and powerful; and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need, including a welcome hamper of biscuits and crisps and a pint of milk in the fridge. In the living/dining room, there was a large cupboard with a wide selection of books and some toys and puzzles which my sons enjoyed playing with during our stay.The owner, Gillian, popped round on the Saturday morning to check we had everything we needed and to let us know she was available next door if we should need anything.All in all, I would heartily recommend S17010 for a comfortable stay in the area. My sons would also recommend it as a great place for families to stay."

"The cottage itself is quite nice but in need of a bit of TLC. The downstairs bathroom door was slightly warped and in need of planing, there was a water stain on the carpet in the downstairs bedroom and the shared outdoor gas bbq was filthy when we arrived. It was a hot weekend when we were there but there were no fans in the property and when you opened the door/windows the property was inundated with flies - a simple fly screen at the door would have helped. The upstairs bathroom smelt damp throughout our stay, despite opening windows to let some air in.Also, shared outdoor space is fine if your neighbours are friendly - ours were not. Their children prevented ours from playing on toys provided by the property, they hogged the pool and caused a confrontation over the booking system which they claimed not to understand. Perhaps if this had been managed by the owner rather than visitors it could have been prevented.It's a nice property, with plenty of space for youngsters to let off steam but it could be an outstanding property in time. The owner is lovely however, and incredibly helpful with her local knowledge."

"S27018 is in a great location for many areas, Cambridge, Saffron Walden, Ely and Knebworth. We visited all of them.There was a lovely welcome hamper in the fridge. Crackers, cheese and chutney. Chocolates a pint of milk and some lovely coffee. Plenty of tea bags available. A co-op and Aldi just down the road for any supplies needed. The kitchen has everything you could need to make a meal in. All equipment available. Everything has been thought of. Julia and Clive have a great little property and are always on hand to help. The house is spotless. Lovely decoration and well thoughtout layout. Cozy and snug with underfloor heading down stairs, a bonus in the cold winter weather. Comfortable bedrooms, great Showers. Plenty of hot water due to having it's own boiler. A lovely homely home to spend a relaxing break in. Thank you Julia and Clive!"
