"Wonderful location, close to Wimpole Estate and only a half hour drive from the centre of Cambridge. The cottage was spacious, the kitchen well equipped, the beds comfortable and we were always able to park (though one evening we got the last available space). However, the cottage is in desperate need of some tlc. When we arrived it was clear the floors hadn't been vacuumed, and most of the crockery had to be washed before we could use it.The toilet in the wetroom downstairs was constantly refilling, which meant we couldn't use the bedroom closest to it as the noise would have prevented sleep. When we mentioned it to the owner we were told they were aware of it, but by the end of our four night stay it still hadn't been fixed. The shower in here wasn't particularly powerful and the temperature went from hot to cold frequently. The upstairs bathroom was also rather dirty. The bath had to be thoroughly scrubbed before it could be used, and the back of the toilet was filthy. The flush mechanism on this toilet was also broken, and we had to have the mechanism hanging out of the cistern to be able to use it. Again, this still wasn't fixed by the time we left. There were instruction manuals for the washing machine, tv etc, but no general information about the cottage, ie heating. The vacuum cleaner was operated by plugging a handle into various sockets in the rooms, but we didn't know this until we were leaving. An instruction booklet would have been very useful in this respect, as apparently we're not the first party to not realise this. From speaking to the owners it is clear that the cottages are there bit too much for them to cope with at the moment. We would stay again because of their location, but only if the cottages were given a thorough clean and bits and pieces put right."

"If you are after a bolt hole to get away from it all, peaceful and off the beaten track, away from traffic, this is the place to go..! There are three self-catering properties in the main farm, and when we were there, the other guests were very nice and didn't cause any noise or disturbance. For several days, we were the only ones there. We stayed in S17007 which has a bedroom, bathroom and lavatory on the ground floor, ideal for a disabled person, whilst the second and third beds are on a mezzanine floor above the bedroom/toilet rooms. The kitchen is very well appointed and the free use of the laundry nearby is a rare and welcomed amenity. There is free use of the wi-fi.Outside the property is a wooden patio with tables and chairs for al fresco breakfast and other meals. The lounge area has a comfortable settee and easy chair and a large tv.We were able to park our vehicle right outside the property which is very convenient because the lady of the house is disabled. The proprietors made us very welcome from the moment we arrived and Rufus the lovely pointer doggie made sure we were looked after!Although we didn't them, there is a covered play area for the kids, and a free to use barbecue and a covered swimming pool in a separate building. The grounds are very well presented and we enjoyed strolling around them. The farm is approached by a long country lane so you don't get any noise from passing traffic. Every so often the jets from nearby RAF Mildenhall take off but they aren't obtrusive and don't last long. I have given straight 9s to the property only because I never give 10s!"

"This cottage is tiny. We took our parents and it's not really set up for four adults. Maybe it's ok for a couple with kids. The floorboards on the mezzanine level squeak like mad so any movements upstairs are heard everywhere.Pretty setting and the pool is nice, although you have to precook your time slot. There is a well equipped laundry. It's a long drive to get anywhere so best to plan your day before setting off. There is lots of info in the cottage on what's on in the county. My review reflects the fact that we were four adults, with kids this place could be great, there is plenty to keep the kids happy."

"The cottage was brilliant. Simple yet just right with everything you need when away from home. The geographical location is wonderful - so very quiet. It was also nice and warm. There is a mobile phone mast within a couple of hundred yards of the accommodation. There are health concerns about living within 750 - 100 yards of one. This is the reason I would be concerned about staying again. However, the property did not have wi-fi - again there are slowly dawning health concerns with wi-fi and for this reason, I would have no hesitation about staying again if there was no mobile phone mast."

"Well positioned cottage for visits to Cambridge and surrounding points of interest, in a lovely village close to the wonderful Wicken Fen. Cottages on main roads could benefit from better highlighting of location either by means of specific lighting or other detailing, as this was a small difficulty here.Cottage had all the basic amenities'but would benefit here with some other additions such as cups & saucers, sharp knives etc etcThe enclosed garden was a great benefit for anyone with a dog-all in all our stay was very pleasant and the owners made us feel welcome."
