What to do with the kids this half term
Half term is looming. While the kids might be thrilled to have a week off, it often leaves parents more frazzled. If you’re wondering what you could to together this February, then fear not. Up and down the UK there are hundreds of event which promise entertainment, education and/or fresh air for all ages. Whether you are planning a day trip or a week away, we have chosen a few of our favourite events in the UK for February half term.
Audley Butler School
Audley Butler School will be taking place at Audley End House in Essex from Monday 18th – Friday 22nd February. The whole family is welcome and you’ll be learning what it takes to be the butler of a country house. From folding a napkin to presenting yourself properly, it will be an entertaining and educational day out.
Nature Craft
If you’re looking for a way to entice your kids outside this half term, then Nature Craft at Beeston Castle in Cheshire might be the perfect thing. Taking place between Saturday 16th and Sunday 24th February this event is a great way to get the whole family out in the fresh air. Enjoy craft activities and build a den in the woodland park.
Teddy Bear Zip Wire
We are sure the Teddy Bear Zip Wire will appeal to little ones this half term. Head to Corfe Castle Dorset between Saturday 16th and Sunday 24th February for a day of family fun. The Teddy Bear Zip Wire is one of several activities on offer and of course, you can explore the castle too.
Lambing Live
It might not feel like it yet, but spring is on its way. This half term you can catch a glimpse of new life and get back in touch with nature at Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park in Somerset. From Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th February you can take part in their Lambing Live event. It’s a chance to meet the new lambs and maybe even name them too.
Operation Ouch!
For something with a bit more of a science focus, head over to the Science and Media Museum in Yorkshire. From Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th February they will be hosting Operation Ouch! which has experiments, activities and challenges for the whole family. There’s so much to choose from we’re sure you’ll have a great day out.
