What to do
A beautiful area of mature parkland within Cardiff’s city centre, Bute Park is the idyllic ‘Green Heart of the City’ and just a short walk from the city’s main high streets. Between the self-led trails and activities, the park also has a nationally-significant tree collection, education centre and three cafes.
Widely regarded as one of the most successful regeneration projects in the United Kingdom, Cardiff Bay is the place to shop, eat and drink in Cardiff. With sight-seeing buses, open-boat Cardiff cruises and an Aquabus, the bay is ideal for visitors looking to get the most out of Cardiff. It’s also home to the wonderfully wacky Doctor Who Experience – an immersive extravaganza for all the Doctor Who fans out there!
The St. Fagans National History Museum
A museum worth a visiting is the St. Fagans National History Museum. Showing how different life and culture was back in the day, it’s an enlightening experience topped off by quaint old fashioned sweet shop and interactive activities on hand. Take a picnic with you and sit down in one of the many lovely and grassy areas around the museum for a relaxing day out.
What to eat
For amazing food in the heart of Cardiff, we say go for the highly rated and I Giardini di Sorrento, easy to find on City Road. For amazing homemade pasta dinners and superb post-meal coffees, this really is the place. We recommend the baked aubergine filled with mozzarella & tomato sauce or the steak with peppercorn sauce. Enjoy this rustic, quirky venue and experience a meal to remember!
