Did you know that the last witches to be hanged in Britain where three women from Bideford? Back in 1682 three women were tried and executed. The evidence against them is the rather dubious sightings of domestic cats and magpies outside of their homes.

Go to the Beach
Westward Ho! is a 2 mile long sandy beach near to Bideford with pebbled areas toward the southern end. The beach is certified blue flag, meaning it is considered safe for kids to swim in. Westward Ho! also offers great surfing opportunities, with small shops where surfboards can be rented and also offer lessons for beginners. There are also amusement arcades and a small mini-golf course.
Atlantis Adventure Park
The Atlantis Adventure Park features an array of kid-friendly rides, a pirate ship to explore, big jumping pillows and crazy golf. In the summer the park puts on extra activities for the kids with sandcastle competitions, teddy bear summer picnics as well as free ice cream and milkshakes.
The Big Sheep
The Big Sheep is a must when you’re in Bideford. Whatever the weather, The Big Sheep offers indoor and outdoor fun for your kids. Shows include sheep and duck trials, sheep shearing, horse whispering, lamb feeding and the world famous sheep races. If you fancy a bit of outdoor play just head on over to one of the many activities and rides that the attraction park has to offer.
