International Kissing Day – Getaway Inspiration
The 6th July is International Kissing Day. So, why not grab a loved one and ditch the routine for a spontaneous, romantic weekend getaway? 1. Portmeirion, Wales

If you’re looking for the most beautiful and brightly coloured village in the UK then Portmeirion is the place for you. This delightful spot on the Welsh coast is perfect for a stroll hand-in-hand. Designed in the style of an Italian village Portmeirion is incredibly photogenic. If you want more to explore the village is perfectly situated within 70 acres of woodland and is an ideal point from which to explore the coast. The mild climate that graces this corner of Wales means you’ll also be able to find plenty of exotic plants. With brightly coloured streets to explore and costal paths to wonder along Portmeirion a couples paradise.
2. St Ives, Cornwall

For a lovely seaside spot with a great artistic heritage make sure you take a trip to St Ives. Nestled around the harbour this picturesque town offers plenty for a weekend away. The much acclaimed Tate St Ives is well worth a visit by all passing through, as is the St Ives Museum. Take a stroll around the narrow cobbled streets and you’ll see the magic of this place come alive. With many galleries and independent shops to explore and a large sandy beach to enjoy this much loved town has it all for a romantic getaway.
3. New Forest, Hampshire

For those of you who love nature and wildlife the New Forest is a gem not to be forgotten. Full of natural beauty there is plenty to enjoy here. Whether you want to explore the forest by foot, bike or horseback why not stop in at one of the many pubs for a hearty lunch or some light refreshment. As well as the wildlife park, zoo and farm found in the park there are also plenty of wild animals to be seen as you explore this majestic part of the world. The most well know of these are the beautiful ponies, which although not actually wild, roam freely around the forest. So take some quality time with your loved one and explore one of Britain’s best National Parks.
4. The Peak District

Another National Park not to be missed is the Peak District; an area of truly astounding beauty. If you and your loved one love getting active then this is the spot to surprise them with for a last-minute getaway. There are so many ways to explore this scenic spot; choose from cycling, caving, climbing, air sports, water sports, trekking, running, fishing or walking. When you want to take a break from all the fun you can head to one of the lovely tearooms or cafes within the National Park for some delicious refreshments. So, next weekend, why not enjoy some quality time with your partner and enjoy your favourite activities together.
5. Isle of Skye, Scotland

If remote islands are more of your thing, then we have the perfect spot for you. With an outstanding, rugged landscape the Isle of Skye is an ideal place to escape to for the weekend. One of the many islands that makes up the Inner Hebrides, Skye is 50 miles long and home to a wealth of rich Scottish history; from dinosaur fossils to Bonnie Prince Charlie. Although enticing for walkers and climbers you can just as easily spend the time wildlife spotting. Otters, whales, dolphins, red deer and white tailed sea eagles have all been spotted here. The Isle of Skye has previously been voted as the 4th best island in the whole world by the National Geographic, and it’s ideal for a romantic couples getaway.
