Brighton, East Sussex
This winter, be sure to visit the Royal Pavillon in Brighton for a skate around their ice-rink. With beautiful lights at night, and set against the stunning Royal Pavilion building this is one of the best ice-rinks in Britain. Perfect for getting in the Christmas spirit. If you need warming up afterwards, you don’t have to venture far to find great offerings in the bar and kitchen on site.
Don’t miss out on a trip to Mousehole this winter. This unassuming village in Cornwall really comes into its own for the festive period. The harbour is lit up beautifully with colourful lights; a tradition that started in 1963. Over 7,000 bulbs make up this display and it will certainly bring cheer and merriment to your Cornish holiday.
Stockheld Park, North Yorkshire
Stockheld Park has everything you need to kick-start that festive feeling this winter. The illuminated forest and adventure playgrounds are most certainly worth visiting with their beautiful lights and illuminated sculptures. Santa will be visiting at the grotto too; so why not stop by with the kids to say hello.
Winchester is beautifully festive at Christmas-time. From the lights strung up around town to the huge Christmas tree, a stroll around this city is sure to warm the hearts of even the most stubborn scrooges among us. The ice-skating at the cathedral is also a great way to join in with the Christmas merriment. There is now even a clear roof, so you can skate whatever the weather without the view of the majestic cathedral being disrupted.
