Burns Night is just around the corner. Celebrated on the 25th of January every year, this is a highlight of the month for many. Marked with neeps, tatties, haggis as well as toasts, and readings of Robert Burns’ poetry it a wonderful evening of commemorating the works of this well regarded poet and lyricist. From small dinner parties with friends to huge events such as the Big Burns Supper, there’s no shortage of ways to mark this special day.

This year, why not visit South Ayrshire, where Burns was born? This is a beautiful part of Scotland, well worth visiting in its own right, and you’ll be spoilt for Burn’s related activities. If you head to Alloway, the village Burns hailed from, you will find the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Burn’s Cottage and many other spots tied to Robert Burns’ life here. For Burn’s Night itself choose from one of the local events, or get your family and friends together for a Burn’s Night dinner in your Scottish cottage.

Below we have found you three of our favourite cottages in South Aryshire. All of these spots are ideal for cosy nights in and will provide a great base for exploring the local area.
