"We stayed here as part of a group reunion we organise every year. The property is modern and well presented and immaculately clean. It's well kitted out in the kitchen and all bedrooms have an ensuite. Bedrooms are comfortable too and there is underfloor heating. Lots of hot water and good showers, plus a fantastic large bath on the upper floor. The views over the countryside are lovely, the open wild flower field at the back is great and there is a lovely large open garden space which would be excellent for kids to run around in. The cottage is very quiet, especially at night and it's easy to listen to the wonderful bird life around. We were disappointed at the welcome pack and folder. The pack was six ferrero rocher and a bottle of wine. Whilst that is always well received, including something such as a local cake or a packet of biscuits is much more useful and welcome, so that you can enjoy those with your first cuppa on arrival. The folder had all the info you need for the property, however there was nothing about things to see or do in the local area except for a leaflet about the National Memorial Arboretum. Very few recommendations for places to eat out or shop either. There are no games or books at all at the property so it was good we had brought some with us. Having these is a nice touch and always well received.WiFi is slow, however the owners are awaiting BT to upgrade the connections as the rural area becomes better connected. It does work though, although we had problems streaming the football final from BT sport.Seating area in the lounge could be better. As the property sleeps six the seating should better reflect that. Replacing the current L shaped sofa with two three seaters would be a vast improvement as the current offering is not comfortable to sit or lounge on for any period of time when six of you are there."

"Owners were very friendly and the cottage was comfortable. Beds were fine. Showers were ok but could do with a lot more power. Fridge very small for a 3 bedroom property and we found that it was either not cold enough or frozen at the back. Equipment provided in the kitchen was more basic than we had experienced in previous holiday cottages. Absolutely no kitchen supplies such as vinegar, ketchup etc left from previous guests. This is the first property we have stayed at where the cupboards were bare. Non stick coating on the pots and pans were badly damaged and needed replacing. We bought our own utensils and pots and pans on the first day. We left those at the property. As the property is listed as luxury we had high expectations. Location is ok, lots of towns and national trust properties within a short drive. Description of the cottage states that there are fantastic walks form the property but we didn't really find this to be the case and very little information provided in the welcome pack. It is possible to search on google but more personal information on the local area from the owners would have been appreciated. Bike racks would have been nice to have.Very little in walking distance but we didn't mind as we went out every day. Tiny convenience store, post office and a local pub. We didn't try the pub as the reviews on tripadvisor were so bad.Great cycle trails at Cannock Chase and lots of national trust properties to visit with dog friendly walks. Towns nearby all worth a visit. We enjoyed our visit and found lots to do."

"The cottage is beautifully appointed with a great deal of thought and consideration having been put into the furniture, furnishings, decoration and equipment. S16446 was spotlessly clean and presented as though we were first people to have stayed there since it was decorated / refurbished.Nice touches such as flowers, chocolates, cake, orange juice, bubbly etc. all add to the pleasurable experience and shows that owners are not cost cutting but making the experience as enjoyable as possible. The outside decked seating area behind and above the property has been very cleverly completed, providing a private, peaceful and relaxing area. This was very welcomed as on weekends and bank holidays when the weather is good, the cottage and front garden will attract attention from visitors. Night time is wonderfully quiet and peaceful and no street lamps which is nice."

"We have stayed in 5* cottages before and this did not measure up. The kitchen was the main disappointment not because of the amenities it contained but the lack of space. By the time the fridge, cooker and sink had been fitted there was very little room for work surface which created problems for laying out plates. More of kitchenette than a kitchen. My husband was also disappointed that there was no off road parking for the car which he would have expected for a 5* cottage. We have since booked with another company with whom we have stayed before in a 5* cottage which is definitely 5* and the price is roughly the same. Big disappointment."

"What a lovely spot, and a beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage. The cottage is a perfect size for a family, and being just opposite the river, we got to see the ducklings every day, which the kids loved. Great base for seeing Derbyshire - only a stone's throw from the Tissington and Monsal Trails. Lots of hikers pass through the village, as it's on a popular route, but it was never noisy or too busy to enjoy the surroundings. Thoroughly recommend the little shop over the way for an ice cream. Lovely people, too. The kids were already asking when we could visit this spot again :)"
