"A return visit as we knew it would suit our needs to be near the city but also at the shore. Cosy and comfortable as expected and we had a good stay with mostly good weather and some lovely sunrises and sunsets. On a positive we found the excellant local playarea ,up the hill behind the church & hall in a former walled garden. Great for playing football with equipment for all ages and watching the planes flying over to airport. The walk up to Cramond bridge and the playarea there was lovely through the autumnal woods. Also got across to Cramond island this time with great views up and down the Forth. A few maintenance and equipment issues such as a window with broken catch that had to be wedged shut to keep personal conversations from cafe below being heard and a cold draught out, loose wall plug sockets, several lightbulbs out, still no glass dishes for cooking in oven or microwave and there was no folder with info on area or appliance instructions. Sofas need a good clean beneath cushions as we found out when looking for a toy. This time we were aware of more night time visits of cars with engines running and early morning dog walkers abusing the no parking on harbour, perhaps the gates need to be shut at corner overnight. The local pub which had a reputation for poor service & food is now shut so we weren't missing out as the bistro below and nearby Cramond Falls cafe are good during day.All in all a good base for exploring with just a few issues that need addressed."

"I chose this place because I knew the area and the building, having at one stage thought of buying one of the flats there. The entrance to the apartments is dismal and dirty. The apartment is nicely appointed and sitting room and bedroom are nice rooms despite there being an over abundance of tartan. Flowers and a welcome basket awaited us which was nice. However, the bed was very uncomfortable and noisy as though springs had given way. In the lounge, the settee covers looked in need of a wash, but the worst bit was the kitchen which is shabby and in need of a visit from IKEA. An awkward shape but what shelves are there are littered with baskets etc so nowhere to put any shopping. The bathroom needed finger marks taken off the door, the bath is fine but the shower is hopeless. Also, the tv is temperamental and only really works using the iPlayer. The entrance to the drive down to the house is tricky due to the parked cars on the road. Having said all that, the owner was very pleasant on the phone and I imagine will put things right."

"The Cottage is modern ,very clean , great for families and dog friendly too. The beds are very comfortable and bathrooms luxurious. The location is great . A car will make accessing the area easier but if you don’t want to drive getting to Edinburgh and Glasgow by train is easy from Linlithgow train station a couple of miles away. The views from the Cottage are dramatic .Watching the weather come in both sunshine and rain is very atmospheric. All four cottages were booked out during our stay and still lots of privacy and tranquility. Our dog loved the little walk round the farm . It would have been useful to have a little map or sign to show us the way but we worked it out. The layout of the the Cottage is spacious and great care is given to make sure that the cottage is very comfortable and welcoming. This is our second stay at Paddockhall and the cottages are consistently of a high standard."

"S23474 is simple beautiful. The views from the kitchen and the lounge are stunning and the walks along the river Almond are breathtaking. The house ws much bigger than we expected, and with lots of lovely, interesting features, such as the lovely little walk way through to the front door. We were there in October and the autumn colours in the area were perfect; we decorated the house with pumpkins and candlelight and had a wonderful time. I would happily live in S23474. However, we did not bring our car as we came to Edinburgh by train, and there is no local shop in Cramond, so you have to come prepared. I had a Sainsbury's delivery which worked well. The number 41 bus runs an excellent service from the village into Edinburgh and you can walk along the river up to the Queensferry road and get a bus to Queensferry to the stunning Forth Bridge."

"Larger than we expected with plenty of room to relax. The view from the dining area was delightful and we spent more time there than in the lounge. Kitchen area was very well equipped. I wondered if the bistro below would be noisy but the customers provided a pleasant background of restrained chatter. When it closed, before 5 pm, the area became extremely peaceful. A short walk to a bus stop enabled us to leave our cars at home most of the time, and avoid the busy roads in the city centre. Easy, frequent and cheap bus ride to all the major tourist sites. Supermarket and takeaways just 5 minutes away. No problem parking on the road outside the flat. We really enjoyed our stay and would have liked another day or two, which is unusual for us. Thoroughly recommended."
