"A lovely place run by lovely people. The accommodation is all on one level above a tearoom, with just a hedge separating the canal that runs along side. The balcony gives lovely views across the fields and canal and there are so many different birds, including Tawny owls. A ten minute walk along the towpath under the little bridge will bring you to the Navigation pub, or walk another twenty five or so to the Queens Head (ten minutes by car). We ate three times at the Queens Head and the food was very excellent. They serve food 12pm-9pm pretty much every day, so ideal for families like us who aren't great at organising our day.The Navigation pub isn't open an often, but I popped in for a pint on a couple of evenings and found it a friendly place, with many people commenting on how good the food was. Oswestry is close by with about four supermarkets. The Morrisons also has a petrol station.S82994 is run by Iain and Fiona, who are both lovely and real grafters. The coffee, cake, scones etc. were all excellent and all the food was home made I believe. We were able to use one of their canoes for a day which was great fun.We had a great time and hope to be back."

"We thought the location of the bungalow was ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. We were very disappointed in how small the bungalow was. There was no room to put our clothes. There was one very small wardrobe with one small drawer. We had to basically live out of our suitcase for one week, which was not good enough. We did put some clothes in the kitchen cupboards, which is not ideal. There was a lack of kitchen equipment, such as no microwave dishes. Pans with no lids, apart from one small pan. No cullender or cheese grater. There was a washing machine, but nothing to put the washing on either inside or out. There was a very small table which was unsuitable for eating your breakfast on because You're knees wouldn't fit underneath. The cushions on the sofa smelt badly of urine. ( Maybe from dogs) This holiday let needs to be inspected, as whoever gave it four stars has not checked it out. We have been to hundreds of self catering accommodation and this rates in our bottom ten."

"A really comfy and cosy cottage in a delightful area. Waking to the gorgeous countryside views was absolutely wonderful. This was an early family Christmas break and the Christmas decor and log burner made the break so enjoyable. A really nice pub is fairly close to the cottage and there are great walks. It’s also close enough to visit Chester, plus Cheshire Oaks and we even travelled to Liverpool. The owner Jane was also extremely welcoming. The fittings within the cottage are of high quality and it’s very tastefully decorated. This is a great property for a family, but I’m not sure if it would be ideal for 2 couples even though it easily sleeps 4 people. The upstairs has quite low ceilings for adults and the only bathroom is also the ensuite of the downstairs bedroom. However, that said we will be returning as we loved our stay!"

"We had a lovely break at the cottage over the bank holiday weekend. The cottage is in a beautiful spot standing on its own away from the farm house. It was really cosy inside especially with the log burning fire. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished. There were plenty of towels and toiletries available in the bathroom and the downstairs shower room was very handy. Irene and Melvyn were lovely hosts and always on hand if we needed anything or in advising us where to visit to make the most of our all too brief stay. This really was a great location for a retreat yet a handy base to tour the local area and attractions. We will definitely return in the near future."

"Spent 4 lovely nights at this beautiful cottage set within the owners grounds in a stunning location. The photographs dont do it justice! The facilities within the cottage suited our family perfectly; we have two daughters aged 14 and 4. They were excited to sleep in the spacious loft area, sit and read and play games up there. Outside there are glorious views of perfect Cheshire! We thoroughly enjoyed the walks nearby and saw plenty of wild birds, rabbits and squirels. A great base to explore from. Friendly owners. Would we go back? Absolutely! It was truly beautiful."
