"As a retired couple with a small poodle, we shared the cottage for a meet up with our daughter, partner and 7 month old baby grand daughter. A high chair and cot were provided free of charge and there was plenty of space and comfort in the three reception rooms and dining kitchen. The three large bedrooms were set out so that we were not disturbed at night - we want one of those mattresses. We even coped well with the single bathroom as there is a separate toilet. The garden was a delight with two seating areas, posh swing and summer house. We enjoyed the wide variety of spring flowers and shrubs and it would be even sweeter when the roses bloom and the sun comes out!It is an old cottage but we met the owner Sue and she keeps it very clean and well decorated. It is one of the best equipped cottage we have stayed in but not at all cluttered, until we spread out our things that is.We found the working village and its people charming, with small swings close by and a lovely walk along the old mineral line to Watchet suitable for a large pushchair. This is not to be confused with the preservation steam railway which it runs alongside and a must for a visit to Minehead or further afield. There is another good pushchair walk and clean toilets at Dunster Beach with linnets and migrating whimbrel to add interest. The younger ones took themselves off to explore Exmoor for an afternoon, whilst we caught up with sleep and dipped into the interesting array of books.Five minutes to Williton affords all you need for everyday shopping and fish and chips and a good pub. We did not sample the local places for main meals but there is plenty of choice and we had light bites at Dunster (village and National Trust), Kilver and we found a delightful place in Minehead town (blue sun shades), that even took our dog.Parking was ample just over the river, and we also found it convenient to use "on street parking" or the village hall car park during the day for a small charge. Altogether a memorable family holiday."

"Lovely stay at S86386 in November 2018. The kitchen was well supplied, shower had a strong flow and the beds were comfy. Unfortunately we were not supplied with any wood for the wood burner, it is really needed - the one radiator in the living room isn't really capable of heating the room up. Once we got the burner going though it was very snug (local Morrisons, Tesco or B&Q have wood and kindling). The cottage is on a busy road but we couldn't hear any traffic from the cottage and it didn't disturb our sleep, only slight issue is if you don't reverse down the drive you have a bit of a nightmare reversing onto that road. Only major disappoint was the 'welcome pack', which was two teabags left on a tray with two coffee sachets & 4 longlife milks - I'm not really fussed if there is a pack or not but don't feel it should be advertised if that's all there is! Other than that very minor niggle, I would happily stay again. Very convenient location for Cheddar, Wells, Longleat Safari & Bath Park & Ride. Clarks village is also good for a mooch about with places to eat."

"It was a great location with nearly all the amenities you could require and the large shower was wonderful. Fantastic outdoor space with the bonus of a conservatory, useful when the wind was blowing outside. A good base to explore the surrounding area with lots of walks in the locality. However, for US the property would be 5 star if a larger fridge was provided as it was difficult to get all our food in refrigeration and there was only 2 of us! A freezer would also have been useful. A DVD player is a must in luxury accommodation although the quality of the TV was excellent. Finally it was very difficult to get any ventilation in the bedrooms at night as there were no opening windows - only patio doors - a security worry? The hamper was very welcome, however the contents could be less sugar based. Although we were warmly welcomed on arrival there was no one about to give feedback at the end of the rental. We appreciate this is a new property so hope these comments will prove helpful."

"The location of the property is excellent for visiting all tourist attractions in North Somerset...nowhere is more than a 30 minute drive (as long as you avoid the M5). The property itself could use an update in the majority of rooms. Only one of the 3 showers works to a standard worth getting wet for. The kitchen was my biggest bugbear. Why have a table which seats 12/14 people when the house can only sleep 8? The table is MASSIVE and takes up far too much of the room. The other issue I had, apart from the general cleanliness of the place (which was pretty abysmal), was the lack of a tumble drier. Personally, and I know that I'm not alone in this, I have not hung clothes out for more years than I care to remember. Fortunately the weather was good but there is no doubt that I didn't use the washing machine as often as I would have normally. The person who looked after the house and we saw more or less every day was very pleasant to deal with."

"Loved it! The cottage both inside & out. The quirky, stylish furnishings, & loads of interesting books. Particularly liked the bed/mattress in the main bedroom, it’s like floating on a cloud. The shower enclosure & the actual shower itself were great. We loved the garden & river alongside made it extra special & very relaxing. Parking on the lane was fine for us, although there is off street parking for two cars if you want it. Lovely walk along the old mineral line to watchet, it runs alongside the West Somerset steam railway one side & the washford river. Dunster just up the road. Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak, Luxborough was outstanding. We love this area & Exmoor. Weather was terrific. Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much to the owners."
