Broadford is close to the bridge which connects Skye to the Scottish mainland, so this village is an accessible place to stay and explore this extraordinary island. The amazing views are dominated by the Red Cuillins mountains, and the area surrounding Broadford is popular with walkers and climbers alike. As with much of the north of Scotland, there is a wealth of wildlife that calls this area its home. While enjoying your holiday keep your eyes peeled for otters, seals and whales.

"I would just like to say that we were four male photographers from South Wales aged between 49 and 67, that descended on Elgol for a week’s photography Holiday on the this magical Isle of Skye. What can I say about S22529 Cottage, it will take you a good 40mins from Broadford up a single track road, which has plenty of passing points for traffic to pass each other, we encountered no problems but it was [ March and not July ] and driving through some beautiful scenery . As you start to enter Elgol you come up a small incline and there is a sign on top to your left just before the cattle grid pointing you down to S22529 cottage, you can’t see the cottage from this point because it’s about 200 yds down a track, which is a cautious drive if you are four in a car and are fully loaded; but no problem if you are in a 4x4. The cottage is all on its own with a view overlooking the moor, and we did see some deer on one day, inside the cottage you will not be disappointed as you walk into the a small hallway with a toilet on the right and a cloakroom on your left and through a door into a very spacious living room and Kitchen area, with stairs leading down to the bedrooms, bathroom and toilet. The cottage is very well equipped with quality utensils, and a phone as you can’t always get a mobile signal. The only thing I would say to the owners is as they have Skye TV, they could upgrade their package to include the internet which would have been a great help to one person in our party [Work Related] who needed internet access. If you are into photography, as we are, you are only a five minutes drive from Elgol harbour which is overlooking the fabulous Cuilin mountains. The photographs of the cottage on this web site do not do it justice. Would I go back to S22529 Cottage, Yes. Would I recommend S22529 Cottage, Yes it’s a credit to its owners Regards Tony (one of the four togs in car from South Wales) Stuart, Dennis and Eric. March 2012."

"We spent our honeymoon week in this cottage and were really happy with our choice. The cottage is really modern, very clean and secluded from the surrounding houses. The views are incredible and we enjoyed watching local rabbits, birds and bats from the comfort of our sofa. It's only 5min drive to the main road which makes the excursions to the rest of the island very convenient. There are lots of attractions just a short drive away - We recommend going to Isleornsay to have a meal at the pub there, a very special and welcoming atmosphere that goes hand in hand with a great food. There is also a local whisky blending place worth popping in to: Gaelic Whiskies. We also bought some beautiful ceramics from Maggie Zerafa in Armadale who is not only incredibly talented but also really warm, chatty and really passionate about ceramics and pottery. The only tiny thing that stopped us from giving this cottage 10/10 was the lack of some basics such as bin bags, salt, pepper, kitchen towels and a couple of spare bath towels which we are used to having when renting holiday properties of this kind."

"We were a party of five which fitted the bedrooms ideally, with two doubel and one single. Each bedroom had its own en-suite so no queueing for the bathroom in a morning. The house was extremely well equipped throughout. There was an open fire in the siitting room, though we had no need to use as the weather was very kind to us, there was also enough comfortable seating for us all. The kitchen had everything you could expect to need and more, including a tagine, and a cheese fondue, again we never used these items. Kyleakin is a small place and the house is ideally located for touring Skye or driivng to walks. There are a couple of pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the house, Saucy marys and King Kaakum, also a very good indian restaurant a short drive away. The owners live in the other half of the semi, and were helpful whenever we had a question. We will certainly try and visit again."

"This cottage is a dream come true, with its panoramic views of Skye and the sea. We see wildlife every time we visit and this year saw otters, buzzards, eagles and even a polecat in the garden. The sun room is a delight and such a lovely place to sit and watch the sun set over the Isle of Skye in the evening. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and very cosy. A tip would be to explore the walk along the coast from the ferry car park. Saw otter every time we went along and sat on the seat (about a quarter of a mile). Another tip would be to sit in the sun room quietly during the evening; we saw an otter and a polecat in the garden, literally a few feet away. There is a hidden stream on the left hand side of the property which is obviously a concealed route to the beach. Last tip would be to walk up Glen Beag and look at the mountain ridges, where we regularly see eagles. April 2012."

"The all around view from the windows in 3 walls is stunning. The wooden stairway down to the bedrooms, with window and lighting is beautiful. The lighting, space, heating and kitchen are very good. The garden is also well designed and planted in the landscape, with beautiful wall.If I did not suffer from severe dust mite allergy it would really be the perfect place to be,really suited to our dreams and wishes! Some suggestions: varnish, seal all the bare wood beams and window sills, no perfumed candles or incense. And only the beautiful pictures, a single pebble and beautiful Sophie duck would certainly be enough to decorate this beautiful place. It would also help to give information if the duvets and pillows of the beds are synthetic. For people without a dust mite allergy it is and excellent place to stay!"
