Staying in Bristol

Bristol has a rich history; so why not visit the cathedral or the charming Georgian streets in Clifton? In contrast to the history this city is steeped in, Bristol has a thriving arts scene. Banksy comes from this vibrant city and while you explore the city keep you eyes peeled for the many works of graffiti art that adorn Bristol’s walls. Bristol is also home to three theatres and many excellent places to eat so there is something for everyone on a last minute break.

"The Roundhouse is a beautiful old cottage exactly as described by Sykes Cottages. If you're looking for 4 star luxury this isn't for you. If you're looking for quaint, quirky, rustic almost medieval you are in for a treat here. A 5 minute walk to the local pub The Druids Arms in Stanton Drew is well worth the effort, serving gorgeous food and drinks at a very reasonable price. Wednesday steak night with a 2 for 1 deal is a must. A 25 minute brisk walk ( 1.5 miles appx ) to neighbouring Chew Magna with a couple of lovely pubs and restaurants and a local shop is a must. A slightly shorter walk to the Rising Sun in Pensford and The Travellers Rest pub both offering great food and drink is another must do. With Bath and Bristol a short drive away there is plenty to do. Slightly further away is the seaside resort of Weston-super-mare but well worth the 40 minute drive, with a lovely beach and promenade, a picnic on the beach followed by a walk down the beach and a couple of refreshing drinks in the many pubs and restaurants makes for a great day out. All in all a great holiday and I've a feeling we may be back here again, SOON. Steve and Jacqui Preston"

"It was not a big issue for me but it hadn't been cleaned properly between rentals. I was throwing away empty milk sachets that had been left by the previos rentor. I also could not get on the Internet with the password provided and so bought a seperate package for the week from BT FON, but again not a big issue. I would have liked to have met the owner if they were around. I have been fascinated with this property all my life so when the opportunity to rent it for a few days while in the UK I jumped at the chance. The new owners have done such a magnificent job and the place was warmer than I expected and the bed was super comfortable - I didn't want to get out of it most mornings. I loved my stay here and would reccomend and definitely stay here again. Thanks for an easy, trouble free stay, I thouroughly enjoyed it! :-)"

"Family were really friendly & welcoming with loads of information on places to go & walks. We had a tour of the farm which was amazing. We wanted somewhere peaceful where we could chill out after a very stressful time & it did not disappoint. We would certainly go to this cottage again. The big drawback for me, as I had planned it as a working holiday, was that the internet connection was so poor that it was almost unusable. I had to go elsewhere to work. The family are very friendly.Very warm welcome from friendly hosts. Excellent location for Chew lakes, Bristol, Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge. I'll be back. The owners have been very kind to us and showed us the farm. We definitely will recommend it to others."
