"The cottage was very nice, but lacked a few basics. The lighting in the kitchen and living room was poor. Two of the bulbs above the sink did not work and one bulb was not working in the extractor fan above the hob. The cooking utensils did not include a wooden spoon/spatula, therefore had to use a metal spoon in the non stick saucepans. There was a lack of chopping boards, and no dish with cover to use in the microwave. Instructions how to use the oven would have been very helpful. The bath looked lovely but was not designed to use the shower attachment, which dripped over the side of the bath, not into it. (Would have preffered a shower rather than the bath). The fan in the bathroom did not work - needed due to no windows. The owners could possibly add a cabinet by the side of, or shelf above the sink as there was nowhere to place the handwash except on the shelf the other side of the bath. Toilet brush would be useful.Otherwise the cottage was lovely, and very clean, great location, but small things make a big difference when going away."

"We enjoyed our time in S16569 - however, at our age we did find the sofa rather low and my wife had difficulty getting up from it! That said the property was well appointed and kitted out. When we first used the washing machine the machine would not spin and dry the clothes. This was because the water drain was blocked with what looked like tissue paper pulp and bits of plastic, which we were able to clean out from the front access point. Regrettably, we also found that the top part of the dishwasher was not working and the crockery was not cleaned. This was due to the internal water feed pipe from the from the bottom rotor point had been knocked and was disconnected from its mounting. Once found this was easy to sort out as it just needed to be pushed home. In both these instances once the minor problems had been sorted out the appliances worked fine."

"Excellent week. Can recommend walks from the book on Mam Tor and Kinder Scout. Lovely, easy cycle from Buxton - Bakewell, on Monsal Trail - see leaflets. Windmill pub and Vale Inn are both good. Lyme Park House are also good, but glad we went early - got very busy by the afternoon. The cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the area. The book of walks seemed accurate, with its timings for length of walks, also flat walks along ridge to Shining Tor. Cycled from Blackwell Mill through trees and tunnels, which was relaxing and scenic. Bakewell touristy but pretty. The games room at the cottage was a massive hit. The house was clean and tidy and the welcome hamper, including scones, was wonderful Thank you. "

"We had a great time at S93315 – it's greatest feature has to be the stunning views of the Pendle hills with no building interrupting, but we also found it nicely decorated and maintained, well equipped for our needs, and much more spacious than we had anticipated - there were two of us but the cottage would easily accommodate two couples as there are two upstairs bathrooms and three bedrooms. Families with small or quite bouncy children may need to know though that there are quite a lot of china and other ornaments in the rooms. Finding milk in the fridge and fresh flowers on the table was very much appreciated, as was being picked up from the station."

"We enjoyed our stay in this basement (cellar) apartment. We wanted somewhere to stay for the Buxton Festival and this was ideal being just a short walk across the park from the Pavillion and Opera House. As the weather was fine and we didn't spend much time in the time in the apartment, the lack of outlook was not a problem. The bedroom is quite small, but adequate with plenty of hanging space. The bath is a good size and comfortable, but the shower is attached to the taps, so is only really suitable for washing your hair. Lounge seats were comfortable, but the Wifi was a bit intermittent."
