"S13908 was in an ideal location for us visiting places around the area - Lewes, Brighton, South Downs South Coast etc, it was clean and well equipped, also a nice touch the owners of the property had left us a complimentary basket of goodies for us to appreciate Tea, Coffee, Biscuits, Sugar etc. and best of all 4 beers left in the fridge just the ticket after a long hot journey. We only met one of the owners Miss Jackson who was very helpful and hospitable and was a pleasure to meet. The minus points of the cottage were that it suffered at times from loud traffic noise from the main road situated close to the property although it wouldn't have been as noisy if we had kept the windows shut but as we were experiencing a heatwave we needed have the windows open.At the back of the property our bedroom suffered from a lack of light as there were some Leyandii trees only a few meters away blocking the light, maybe it would be an idea to cut the hight down a bit. The rear garden looked as if it needed a bit of maintenance, also we had two dogs and it wasn't as enclosed as we had expected it to be (open gaps,) basically the dogs could have easily escaped if we left them unattended for a moment. The cottage spec stated it slept 4 but there was only one lounge chair and sofa that seated 2 so it was a tight squeeze when we had relations stay with us for a couple of days. Apart from those discrepancies we really enjoyed our stay at S13908."

"A lovely place to stay for wonderful walks along the beach, the Undercliff Walk, straight down to Brighton Marina and Brighton Town Center. Just as well you can go for long walks in the countryside. The Cottage itself is beautiful and in a very good state. All electrical equipment is in a perfect state, Wifi is top. The bathroom is small, but nice and the shower works like a charm. Beds are perfect and the enclosed garden is a lovely place to enjoy a good cup of coffee or a nice BBQ. Rottingdean itself is very traffic polluted, moving along the streets as a pedestrian isn´t very pleasurable.Parking in the garage should be easy for Smarts or Minis, but not for SUVs. But there is enough free parking space up the road. Mind you, a long way up the road... ;-) No, it´s ok, you might have to walk 200 m or so.Once we had parked our car, we left it there all week and got us a Network Saver Bus ticket for roundabout 22 GPB a week. Cheaper and much more pleasurable than going into town by car.Would we come back to Rottingdean and S26240? Yes, any time!"

"This is lovely house in an excellent location and good local restaurants. We were disappointed with the house though. When you pay premium prices you expect a premium property. For example the dishwasher was broken, we couldn't get the electric induction hob to work and couldn't find instructions. It was marketed as sleeping eight but only had 5 cereal bowels and a mixture of crockery odds and ends. There were too few saucepans. One of the patio chairs had a bolt missing and was potentially unsafe. Several lights didnt work despite changing the bulbs, (not something you should have to do when you arrive). The kitchen table was too small for anything other than two people, the logburner had not been cleaned out and there were cobwebs here and there. Then you are told that to use the hot tub will cost you £150! Clearly the owner doesn't want you to use it.If these issues are addressed we would stay again but until they are we couldn't recommend it. This post has been made with the full knowledge of English Country Cottages."

"We try to stay at S87917 whenever we're in Hove. It's our preferred property. The standard of finish and attention to detail has not yet been rivalled by any other holiday let we've had in Brighton. It's a lovely place and the owners are always so welcoming. Outstanding property in a perfect location. Five minutes to the seafront, shops, supermarket, restaurants and pubs all close at hand while being in a quiet and safe street. We try to stay at S87917 whenever we're in Hove. "We had the best week ever staying in S26240. It is so well situated everything we could need within range. The cottage is comfortable the beds were great the shower brilliant. My son would have liked some sort of wardrobe even a hanging rail in his bedroom he couldn't unpack his case. The single room has just a few hangers and wall hooks.A couple of light bulbs were out and we couldn't get the oven hot enough to cook then we got the top grill to work and promptly burnt the pizza! I couldn't see the smoke alarm however I'm sure there must be one. These things did not interfere with our enjoyment of rottendean and our stay was comfy and the garden of the cottage very nice. Good seating and large parasol."
