"The apartment was beautiful and very clean. The location was fantastic, literally 2 mins to the town and 5 mins to lake. However parking was a nightmare and if you were lucky enough to get a spot, move and it was gone. The local car park was very close but really expensive at @ £7 for a few hours. The accommodation was advertised as having parking however this was communal not specific. As a party with 2 elderly guests there was no mention of the very steep concrete steps to access the building. The apartment would be wonderful for 2 adults and 2 children but far too small for 4 adults. Because of the way the living room was set out, 4 people could not watch tv as you were sat sideways to the TV. It would have been better sited the other side of the room where the wooden cat is on a bracket? The another small chair could be fitted. The second bedroom was so small that there was not bedside table and a cupboard had been converted to house clothes, you could only access by kneeling on the bed, no good for people in their 80’s. In order for 4 to sit comfortably around the table, you had to move the table out into the living room which then blocked off the door into the hall and access to the kitchen. We are holiday home owners ourselves and all our ads state “not suitable for those with mobility problems” I don’t mean to sound negative and if we were a couple, it would have ticked every box as it is lovely, however as a group of 4 we won’t be returning sadly."

"Ideally located behind the main road at the top of of the hill leading down to Bowness. Shops, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and cinema close by. The kitchen area is modern with everything one needs to prepare, cook and eat a meal. Pick up key near Windermere train Flat number is not on the fob. I had to try every flat in the building till I found the lock the key fit into. There were four missing lightbulbs which made the studio very dark, (only 1 replaced). As the front elevation of the property is in an alley behind tall buildings you really do need the lights on most of the day. The towel rail in the bathroom was faulty, (fixed next day). There was mould on the bottom of the shower screen which didn't fit flush with the side of the bath, so water escape had to be mopped up after every shower. The clothes hanging space is inside the broom cupboard with the cleaning gear and the mop bucket. The painting of the bathroom was unfinished and stopped about a foot short of the skylight. The carpet in the living/bedroom area was stained and dirty. Such a shame as a few tweeks and better maintenance would have made this a lovely cosy appartment."

"This is the second time we have stayed at S89460 and we have really enjoyed both our stays. The cottage itself is lovely and very well presented. The new bathroom and toilet has made a big difference. All the neccesessities such as tea, coffee, biscuits etc had been left for us and after a mishap with the key the owners were very helpful and popped straight over to help us which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately since our last stay the local village shop has closed so the only thing i would mention is that it is about 3 miles to the nearest shop in hawkshead but if you plan in advance it certainly isnt a deal breaker. The cottage is in a great location in a quiet part of the lake district with lots of great walks nearby. We ate at both the local pubs the cuckoo brow and the tower bank arms which were both excellent. We will most certainly be visiting again."

"This little cosy cottage was just what we where looking for, quite shocked at some of the reviews on here, any home not lived in over winter would have a light musty smell, but it soon cleared after a few minutes, loved this cottage spotlessly clean modern kitchen and modern bathroom with underfloor heating and a fantastic rain shower, the furniture in the living area is old but immaculate and compliments the cottage perfectly. The bedrooms where decorated with cottage style furnitur and decor the beds where very compfortable all this and only ten minute walk into Bowness all down hill I might add, we walked down and taxied back up only cost £3.50 not worth getting out of breath for, the bars and shops in Bowness are fabulous you will want for nothing. This is a wonderful little cottage and we will defiantly be back again 100% recommended."

"Great holiday in Bowness again, fantastic place and base to explore the Lake District. Large variety of eating and drinking places. On the down side most of public toilets closed or charging silly amounts, car ferry closed over summer ( refurbishment should be done out of season ) prices for ferries / buses little high. Overall amazing place.Re accommodation, wonderful place stayed there before and will again and again we are sure, to make even better add Wi-Fi, shower very stiff needs addressing, advertised as NO pets but believe some visitors may have taken dogs in past ( we prefer no pets accommodation ), great place to call home for your stay love it. Will defiantly be back hopefully many more timesRe Cumbrian cottages, used them many times been great very helpful would highly recommend them, ( loyalty discount may be nice )"
