"Cottage is in a quiet, off road location, yet only three minutes' drive from nearest village, where there is a decent pub (The Crown), and ten minutes' drive from Prestatyn. There are stables and horses on site, and the owners have a friendly though large dog, and cat. We received a warm welcome with milk and a lovely cake provided, and chat when we passed throughout the week. The cottage is quite spread out and felt a bit big initially for us as a couple, but we soon got used to this! The cottage does sleep four and would be plenty big enough for this size group. There is a large garden, which we didn't use but would be great for a family in the summer. It was always warm when we came in at night - great on the days it was chillier.Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Toilet did smell a bit (this may have been the septic tank) and there were one or two cobwebs. The shower floor is quite thin and moves when you are in it, and the bathroom would benefit from an extra towel rail - it didn't feel as if there was quite enough towel space for the two of us (and I think this would be more the case with four). But these are minor things, and we really enjoyed our stay and our week."

"We were a family of 8 adults and 2 small dogs that enjoyed an excellent week in S18158 over Christmas. S18158 has a really nice feel to it and was a real "home from home" for the family and was even decorated with a tree and xmas lights. The whole house was very well equipped with anything and everything that you are ever likely to need for a large family gathering. The property was very clean throughout and there was plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. The gardens were very kept very tidy. Well located for dog walking in the nearby Delamere Forest, for shopping in Chester, and the Goshawk pub only 250 yds away was very good. There is an excellent A to Z supplied by the owner which tells you everything about the property and the surrounding area. Would thoroughly recommend S18158 to any family planning to visit the area and hopefully we will return again in the future."

"A very tired looking accommodation, initially seemed very sweet and homely. However when you looked a bit deeper broken light shades, light bulbs out in most of the rooms, insulation tape holding shower head up ,dirty bath, Curtains in the main bedroom didn't close had to use pegs, the plugs socket in bedrooms poorly placed, the fridge didn't keep cool and the freezer had broken drawers and over frosted. For 8 people another toilet would have been useful there is room for an on -suit off the main bedroom. We didn't think it was value for money it was all shabby and dated.Saying that our dogs loved being safe in the fenced in area and if the owners repaired and replaced items that are damaged we would go back. "S18151 is located on a farm next to a river with lovely views. There is a fence surrounding the property with a nice patio area for alfresco dining. We received a warm welcome from Heather who provided us with tea, coffee, sugar and milk and an added bonus of a bottle of wine and chocolates. The location was great being only a few miles from lots of great places to visit and walk including Chester, Delamere Forest and the Sandstone Trail. The cottage itself is finished to a high standard and has everything you could possibly need. We found it very warm and cosy and everywhere was spotlessly clean. My one criticism would be the double bed is in need of a new mattress but apart from that we had a wonderful week."

"We had a lovely family holiday in this wonderful house. The location is perfect very close to the train, the pub and dalamere forest on the doorstep with Chester just a few miles away. A beautiful location, lovely gardens and well equipped house. The rooms are huge and although there were 7 of us there was plenty of room. It really is a home from home. The owners are extremely helpful and genuinely can’t do enough for you. I would love to come back and do more, 3 nights isn’t enough to explore all the things around. I’d highly recommend this house and location, we thoroughly enjoyed it and all commented how lovely everything was. Thank you so much for making us welcome and hope to visit again soon."
