"the cottage is in a lovely peaceful location, perfect for a complete getaway. Unfortunately there were a few issues that should be addressed, no instructions for the oven, kept switching off whilst cooking. We arrived late and there were no matches for the fire, no washing up liquid . When we went into the ground floor bedroom I was quite surprised to see that the black quilt set hadn't been ironed and the quilt inside was way too big for the cover making it very lumpy. The pillows were very flat and need replacing! The upstairs bed was the same but with being white, didn't show so much. What shocked me the most that we were asked to strip the bed before leaving! Never had to do that on holiday before! When we stripped the bed I was not happy to see that the quilt was stained and the mattress cover, right down to the mattress itself!! not nice to see when we had slept on it all week. This should definitely be checked. The plus side was that it is in a beautiful area for scenery and walking!"

"Warm and comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for - even a tea cosy! Ideal for dog owners, with a utility space and shower as you walk in the door so you can get rid of mud before entering. Forest walks and bike trailsstart just along the road. WiFi was great, phones worked in the back bedroom. We voyaged out in all directions and visited the Castle of Mey, Inverewe Gardens etc and really liked Dornoch. Our only negative feedback would be that there was no view over the water as the trees screen it off and the proximity to the road makes it a wee bit noisy if you sit outside in the garden to drink your tea. All in all, we had a lovely time."

"Excellent cottage, very nicely appointed with everything you need. The location is stunning and amenities are only a short distance away. Bees have hived in the roof and were a bit of a nuisance when we wanted to sit in the garden, but never an issue inside. The garden is gated and walled, but fronts onto the road which has a 60 mph speed limit, so if you're taking animals or young children, you will need to watch them. That said, the road doesn't cause any noise problems. This is certainly a cottage I would like to return to."

"The cottage is in a lovely position and was very quiet and relaxing, the bed is very comfy and the living room also. How ever when we arrived the cottage was very cold and smelled of damp, we lit the wood burner which smoked and set off the smoke alarm !! and after a long drive it was the last thing we needed. Once we had worked out the heating and hot water etc and warmed up and had a cup of tea things didn't seem so bad. It would have been nice to have a little welcome tray of tea , biscuits etc......"

"I was disappointed,We were promised a basket of fuel for the stove and it was empty at our arrival, nobody came to check if everything was OK , the bedroom smelled mouldy and the showers were not working properly, did not have any intructions for the hot water. It felt a bit neglected and uncared, I do not expect much but definitely it was way too much money for the service provided. On a positive note, the sofa is comfy and it is very quiet. So a bit of improvements can make this place a good one."
