"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"My parents and I stayed here for Christmas and New Years... it was fantastic!! John and Grace are the most amazing hosts... they checked on us every once in awhile and made sure all was going great. They even left us little goodies. :) the House was decorated for Christmas and even had a wonderful Tree!! (Thanks!!) The cottage itself was perfect... it was huge and if one person wanted to sleep while another watched TV downstairs it didn’t interfere. Location was absolutely perfect. Not only are you located basically in town, but you are near the walkways that work as short cuts through the town. You can get quickly to the grocery or the other side of town with ease. We really enjoyed our time and Bourton on the Water is an amazing village- especially at Christmas!"

"Camelia Cottage was perfect for my week in Oxfordshire. I was staying alone with my dogs and doing a week's course in the area and felt like I was coming home every evening. The cottage is comfortable and cosy and Katherine left plenty of the basic supplies (like washing up liquid, loo paper, soap etc) which is really great as you don't want to be shopping for those things when on holiday then having to take them home with you (some cottage owners are a bit mean in this regard)! Being a single traveller I am sensitive to how relaxed I am when I am away from home and sometimes feel a bit lonely or uncomfortable but at Camelia Cottage I felt right at home. I would highly recommend and will visit again when in the area. Thank you!"

"The couple who own this property are lovely, very welcoming and always ready to help. The cottage and its neighbour are the cleanest we have stayed in and have pretty much everything that we could possibly need during the stay. The cottage is within a couple of minutes walk into the centre of Bourton, and just five minutes walk from an impressive new Co-op. We were able to buy anything we needed locally so no time wasted looking for supermarkets etc.We have stayed in the neighbouring Oxleigh twice before and will definitely stay again. Our daughter and son-in-law joined us with their two little ones for four days and there was plenty of room for all to enjoy their stay."

"Most aspects of the property were very good, well equipped to a high standard with good wifi, but there were a couple of problems with the bedroom that really can't be corrected as they are part of the basic design. The bedroom is a dormer and the sloping roof restricts easy access to the bed. Secondly there are two Velux windows set into the roof and if it rains heavily in the night, which it did on one occasion, it is like trying to sleep inside a drum. This may not be a problem for heavy sleepers but it was for me."
